His state South Australia has no cases of COVID 19 and there borders are closed to the Eastern part ive heard excuses about material procurements. The state of Victoria is in lock down so if he's getting parts from there it could be an issue.
Ive ordered carpet for the house im told don't expect anything before Christmas as it all comes out of Victoria. They're doing a partial reopening on the 28th of this month.
See that's good information to have. I just wish we all were getting straight answers first hand. I don't think it's unreasonable to at least get a post once in a while from someone at JT about how production is going, or how many units are shipping and when, we've all put our money and trust into his business because we want his product.

In 6 months Tash doesn’t reach out directly, I’ve had to initiate contact, I always wait a minimum of 2 weeks, same generic answer each time. There’s free software (HubSpot CRM) that can make these follow ups much easier. COVID or not, I’ve placed and received dozens of orders, maybe a couple have been slightly delayed, but none of these excuses. Frankly I think they just prioritize local business and backlogged the group buy orders, there’s no other excuse.
Man that’s crappy to hear, I had made some assumptions because they’ve made Instagram posts a number of times over the past months of truck related stuff they’ve been working on
So I heard back from Tash, they were still waiting to paint my lids so I told them I'd rather just have the kit as-is since, well, who the hell knows how long painting will drag this process on. They're refunding me the extra fee for the paint and shipping it out.

I just kept pinging them until I got an answer.
I think the best advice I've heard on here so far is for them to get some CRM software, maybe an administrative assistant or something. It would save them so much trouble and improve the customer experience vastly, probably pay for itself and then some.
Pretty sure they said months ago that those needing painting had been sent? They are still waiting on f*cking paint?!? This group buy has gone to sucking ass.

I had to look back to see when that was posted. Sure enough, on April 30th you reposted a March 28th comment from the Facebook group saying they were all either powder coated or at the painters for powder coating. Now does that mean they hadn't done the ones that were going to be painted to match the car, like mine? Not sure. It's still a ridiculous delay though, worthy of an explanation for sure.

HubSpot is free, in free tier you get CRM, a sales pipeline, ability to do email marketing to people in lists (i.e. your backordered sales), you get quite a bit for ... nothing
It doesn’t take long for JT to simply post an update to the contact of the group buy. His customer service skills are typical of most operators in the car game. He has none.
Quick update:
Intakes still haven't shipped, 2 1/2 weeks after being told everything was ready to go. They did refund me for the painting I told them to skip, but apparently they're still waiting on my filters to come in now, and the order has been delayed for a month. Talk about a clusterf***
Well, I’m 1 for 2 in the satisfaction with group buys, I think. Got in on a QuickSilver exhaust about the same time, they should be building now and shipping soon. At least with QS, they were building a brand new gen 2 exhaust, and people were kept updated. Unlike QS, JT is building a current selling product, requiring no research, etc., and is quieter about what’s going on, than Yamamoto‘s 1941 fleet updating their position on their way to a luau on Oahu, in the update department.
Nothing here, I’ve usually had pretty good experiences with group buys, this is definitely on the extreme end of it, no other group buy comes close. Of the next worst, it was just a scammer and a lower priced product and it was resolved in less time.
I don't necessarily think group buys suck in principle, and to some extent all this is related to factors outside anyone's control. The primary thing making this an awful experience, for me, isn't the time, it's the poor communication. I'm a patient guy, I'm willing to wait for good quality and to tolerate delays when they make sense, but if things are messed up just tell me up front, don't make me email you multiple times just to get told a new problem has come up. If any other vendors are out there keeping an eye on this thread, let it be a lesson, because once these things finally arrive and get installed I could have total satisfaction in the workmanship and performance, and I still wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Not until the company reforms how it works with its customers.
