JB4 overboost?

I recently installed the borla exhaust and I wanted to do a pull to see the difference. I used launch control and the car went into limp mode. I went to the user settings and seen the boost safety was 24.0 and my boost level was 24.3. Can I just input a higher number? Or is 24 the actual max?

The fastest Lap3 tuned Stingers run about 19. It’s called over boost for a reason. BOOOM!!!

Yep. That's enough to make you start to over boost especially on a map like map 4. If you don't have the EWG wires, get them. Then, lower the FF using the app until you 1. Stop over boosting, and 2. Get your ECU_PSI closer to the DME BT. Even without seeing your logs, I'd guess the ecu is seeing the car above 17 psi at some point which will eventually cause other issues down the line if that goes much higher.

The stock turbos IMO aren't going to give you much more past 19..maybe 20psi at the very most.
 
So have you done any of the other work to support the catless downpipes?
You can't just swap the downpipes and run it. The stock turbos depend on the restriction of the stock downpipes. Remove that and you get overboost.

What will the ewg wires do? And this is the first time it’s happened, I’ve gotten 20-22psi on multiple occasions and no overboost occurred

Maybe the Borla is what took it over the edge. the catless downpipes is the real problem in the equation though. Every overboost case involves high flow or catless downpipes it seems. EWG wires are your only hope I think, as mentioned above.

And I won’t overboost up until what number you think? And what do the wires do exactly?
 
I'm not really qualified to answer that. I would sync up with Burger Tuning about the EWG wires. also check out the N54 tuning forum for more info. I think it essentially controls the wastegate so you don't get the overboost. There are some settings in the JB4 you'll need to mess with. I'm sure the guys at Burger will help you though.
 
Ark catless downpipes, borla exhaust, injen air intakes, hks bovs, hks sparkplugs, JB4 running map 4 (because I’m not sure if I could run 5 or 6) on e30 mix, big mouth snorkel lit kit, and a dual oil catch can
Are the ARK primary or secondaries. I’m guessing secondaries so you’ll likely need to get the EWG wires.
 
I've got the Borla exhaust on my stinger as well. I have a 2022 and man she loves to go into limp mode lol. So from my understanding, make sure your transmission oil is heated up to about 140-150 degrees. And the water temp at about 200 degrees. I've gone into limp simply from not being fully warmed out. When my car is the right temperature I could put my gas pedal into next week and it won't go limp. Very sensitive cars (not always a bad thing lol) Going limp will save you from potential BS.

You can go limp from many many different reasons. Hitting a pot hole, breaking traction too hard too early on, bad gas, etc. Only mod I see that really runs the risk of over boosting is the secondary cats deleted.
