Jb4 map 3 mods

I'd be in for a meet! No more mods for me (he says) but your DP sounds like fun though..especially once you get the jb4 and intake. I swapped the bms intake back to stock this week and like the smoothness and more focus on the exhaust. Great to be able swap it to keep things interesting.

The stinger has only had shell and runs jb4 map 2 no issues I'm a dedicated banwell filler upper

Runner you got your tips! hope you like them. We still need that exhaust sound test before your car goes into hibernation..

So Shell 91 on map 2 no issues? Sweet! Have you swapped to colder spark plugs or still running stock with stock gap? I've been doing e10 with Shell 91 on map 1 and its been running well. No engine codes and its a noticeable hp/tq difference.

Yea regapped Denso 5346 IKH24 that came with the bms kit. Pulls very well in map 2 quite a bit of drama at the rear end! Having winter tires back on with be a riot

Before i get my spark plugs swapped out, please tell me its easier than it looks on the passenger side. Im scared for when it comes time.

Don't try to rush it. Take the extra 20-30 minutes and make sure you do it right. Get a swivel socket, maybe a locking socket extension.. Several videos and tutorials here and youtube.

Overall, a bit easier than doing 4 plugs on my LGT boxer-4. Driver's side is pretty simple.

It’s very doable, very easy. Just take your time. And don’t drop the bolts lol

I watched every video out there I could find on changing plugs, some are good, some are bad. Like @turboAWD said a good set of extensions and swivels are the key. The thing that I didn't find in ANY VIDEO is disassembling the coil to get at that plug (cyl #3 I think). It seems no one wanted to film that part. If someone has a youtube link please share it with @Dakohero. Unless you pull the whole intake off, there's no way I found to get at that plug unless you pull the rubber boot off the coil pack. It's an easy task, don't panic... There's a spring in there that will come out with it. Reverse the process to put it back together.

Awesome, yeah, ill make sure i watch as many vids as possible before i attempt it, already got the sockets on order now too haha. Thanks for all the advice guys!

I was able to do the dreaded cyl 3 by seperating the coil in situ by taking my time (flat screw deiver iirc) Didn't have to remove the intake thankfully.

This gave me the best idea

I did manage to leave the spark socket in the hole mid way and had to get creative with gaffa / gorilla tape to rescue it and tighten her up. Found it a little tricky to apply enough torque on cyl 3 when tightening the new sparkplug, thought i was going to damage the ceramic outter with my crappy tools on this one..

I did it warm so the coils would bend easier. ..warm rubber is more pliable. I used 2 swivels, long 6” 3/8 ext, reg 3/8 extension and the magnetic socket from bms. And torque wrench to finish

I think I just slowly pulled out the entire coil pack, then slowly pushed it in again - it bends reasonably well..
