Hey all, as far as i can tell, a good amount of people are running map 3 on their jb4s with minimal mods. At the moment i have ark secondary DP, and mbrp cat back. Ill be ordering my jb4 and intakes too. In canada i can only get ultra 94 octane pump gas, but i can easily add an octane booster. Which map do you guys think i can run safely without running in to problems due to mods/fueling issues? Thanks in advance!

With our CDN gas you’re best to stay map 2. Who’s 94 are you using, Chevron is :poop:. Better off using Shell 91. You will see it in your logs once you’re set up. What part of the country you in? Oh and welcome to the forum. Great place for everything Stinger. Cheers

Im in ontario, bordering detroit. Ive been using petro ultra 94. Was using shell 91 previous to switching. I figured i wouldnt need to add much octane booster if anything to the 94 just to guarantee it was more accurate.

You didn't mention plugs, that's another big bottle neck when it comes to Maps, more so than intakes. You'll be pretty much stuck on Map1 unless you swap and gap.

My bad, i thought plugs were a given when mentioning piggyback, haha. Ye theyll be swapped for sure as well.

Right on, I'm going to give you the canned reply... We'll have to see logs first. So many variables and no one can say for sure which one your car will like. I will tell you that Map 2 should be a breeze, but run Map3 and post a log so we can see how your car likes it. If it all looks good then maybe 4 might be next for you, at that point it's all fuel additive like E85 or higher octane boost.

Sounds right on! Cant wait to get her going! Cant believe how i badly i didnt wanna pull the plug on aftermarket parts, and it gets easier everytime now.

So what do you look for specifically in the logs to say if it's running ok? Does what you look at change by the map used? If anyone cares to explain, explain it like I'm ignorant.......because well, I am.

Ive had had issues with Windsor shell 91,one bad tank.. either wasn’t 91 or something...car ran HORRIBLY, this wason Ojibway, I’ve resorted to Canadian tire 91. My logs are reasonable on map 2 but you can see really at the limits of the fuel. 94 has ethanol added in Ontario effectively reducing the octane, car was slow and reduced timing during runs with s as lot of variations in cylinder timing (over 4deg..really not ideal at all). In Amherstburg

Ouch, i havent gotten the chance to monitor anything yet, but up until 2 weeks ago i had been using shell 91 from banwell. Looks like ill probably switch back and see how everything goes from there. Thanks for the heads up!

I problem...hope to see you out and about. Wouldn’t be Bruno’s neighbour would you?

Not unless i havent met bruno yet, haha. Normally youll find me in the east end, and lakeshore areas. White gt. Also hope to see you around too! We should have a local meet or something! Always excites me to see other stingers around.

Sounds good. Wife drives the car most days....black, carbon oval tips and black/machine Face aftermarket wheels. I’d like to meet the local guys....yet to talk to another owner face to face lol.

I'd be in for a meet! No more mods for me (he says) but your DP sounds like fun though..especially once you get the jb4 and intake. I swapped the bms intake back to stock this week and like the smoothness and more focus on the exhaust. Great to be able swap it to keep things interesting.

The stinger has only had shell and runs jb4 map 2 no issues I'm a dedicated banwell filler upper

Runner you got your tips! hope you like them. We still need that exhaust sound test before your car goes into hibernation..

Stingers are aways great to drive by!

Gorgot to mention I always add about 2 oz of boostane on a full tank to get from 91 to 93 ish
