Just installed a JB4 yesterday. Car feels good. I have a data cable from a JB1 I had on my previous car, a GTI, that I never used. I didn't install it on the stinger initially yet either. I'm pretty sure it will work on the JB4 as they only sell one data cable. My question for anyone that has installed the data cable how did you run the cable to inside the vehicle. I know I can use the same location as where the OBD2 cable pass thru but I don't to have to run it all the way across then inside as I will for sure need a really long usb extender. I would also have to wrap the cord where they meet as I'm sure at least some water will get on it since its in the engine bay. I rather pass it thru on the passenger side since if I'm connecting with a laptop I will prob be on the passenger side. If anyone has any tips on where to pass thru the cable to get inside the vehicle or better yet if you have any photos of how you ran your data cable that would much appreciated.

Get the bluetooth adapter. Go through the driver side firewall grommet.

Problem solved.

I was told there is a grommet on the passenger side behind the glove box. However, it would be a 10x harder than driver side for a cable to fish through.

Ok. So it sounds like just stick w/ driver side grommet. Is the cord long enough to make it thru the pass thru? Just by looking at the cord stretched out looks like it should make it. I can use a usb extender on the inside of the car to get it where i want it.

We ship them with long OBDII cords intended to fit per our install guide. If you have a short OBDII cord from another vehicle is likely won't reach.
