I've been to this dealership twice. Last Fall 2018 and met with sales manager Donte. Shoot from the hip guy which is always appreciated. But what impressed me most is he went out of his way to figure out how to reduce my cost to the max utilizing Kia incentives and dealer discounts. HE was the one that brought up the lease/buyout option, not me. In the end I decided to wait for the 2019.

Then a few weeks ago when I purchased a 2019, again ultimately with Donte. Over all good experience but I did not appreciate the salesman's actions. I had an appointment and even had a reminder email. I had already done my research, I knew the number I was going to pay, and didn't even really need to drive the car but I did anyway. Then he left me sit for 3 freaking hours, wouldn't give me a final number, didn't tell me about the stupid $299 PP, totally jacked around. This really pissed me off - in the end I ended up there for 4 hours for what should have taken 45 minutes.

Finally found Donte and told him this is what I'm willing to pay and this is what I want (no PP fee and free remote start added). Bam, done in 5 minutes. Donte comes through again.

I experienced the service department when they installed the remote start. On time, fast work. Service manager made it a point to come out and meet me. Stand up guy. While talking to him I noticed the paint was scraped on the passenger side door rail - you could see it with the door shut. I would have seen this when I purchased the car and that door had not been opened over the week I owned it. He said they should not have been in that side of the car, not sure if they did it or not but they are going to fix it anyway - they want satisfied customers and he recognizes they need to up their game now that they are competing with BMW, Audi, etc. Ok good.

They also told me if there is any issue at all with the dealership to contact Cody who is a Sweeney family member and is in and out of this dealership frequently and he'll make it right. Good to know.

Over all good experience, just deal with Donte directly. I found out the salesman benefits financially from waiting to pay off the car for 90 days. I payed it off online yesterday, time is money and I'm not paying him to waste mine.

Was just looking at that dealership too. I stay in Michigan and can't find a GT2 Ceramic Silver w/ Red Interior in a 100 mile radius. Don't mind making the drive there to grab the car. My question is how much did you pay? Would hate to make the travel there just to get screwed by the numbers.

I purchased a GT2 AWD, MSRP $54,065. I paid $47,315 before taxes with a free remote start and I refused to pay the $299 for paint protection. You may be able to do better; I was on a mission that day, had a number in mind, and getting it done and out of there was my priority. Had I been in a mood to screw around or let it go a few days I might have been able to talk them down.

I found them to be true to their word on cost both when I went in 2018 and 2019 - they did not change what they told me on the phone when I got there either time. But I would call and ask to talk with the sales manager Donte. I really don't think he'd go back on his word.

But if for some reason it turns out I'm wrong about that, tell him I have not filled out my dealer survey yet and if I find out he drug you down here and changed his tune I will more than happy to ding the dealership to the max :)

Thanks, I really appreciate. You got to love stinger owners, always ready to help .

Does the remote start come with a separate fob or is it done from the key? Also did you finance or lease (planning on leasing)

The remote start came with 2 fobs but my other 2 fobs are also programmed to use it. I financed to get the rebate that went with it and then paid the loan off.

So do you think it's possible to get around the price you paid with a lease? I'm hoping I can get the price from $53,860 down to $48,500 before lease cash. But seems like the chances are extremely low.

In my case here's how we got to $47,315:
$54,065
- 2,000 competitive bonus cash
- 2,750 financing rebate
- 2,000 dealer discount

Financing rebate obviously won't apply. You can ask if your current vehicle is on the competitive bonus cash list (or owner loyalty if you own a Kia), that would get you $2000. That would leave the dealer discount to negotiate to roughly $5,000. There is also $2000 cash on certain VIN numbers, so see if that applies.

You never know, they may do it. They are a very high volume dealership and are more interested in getting cars out the door than what they actually sell them for. I would try this week though, as it's close to the end of the month and if they're trying to meet volume numbers they're trying now.

Is Kia still offering a cash bonus on leasing though?

Yup, they're still offering it for the 2019 model year. Heard they stopped for 2018 though.

Latest I read on here about that is that MY18 lease incentives are all over in July. I don't know if that is because the last of the MY18s were built in June. There may still be some MY18 Stingers left after that, and how will Kia sell them without incentives? Some other kind of killer deals will have to be offered, or else that inventory will sit and waste.

Stinger Girl,

I'm also in Michigan and contemplating going to Sweeney to get a Stinger GT2 (all the GT2s around here have the 18" wheel/tire package) and I don't want to waste any time getting to the bottom line as it's a long drive. I've checked Sweeney's website and don't see anyone named "Donte" listed in Sales. Did you work with Dante Goetz? If not, do you remember Donte's full name or still have his contact info (business card)?

Enjoy,

Hello:)

I don't know his last name. He is a sales manager. BUT, I need to run down there (possibly tomorrow) to pick up some touch up paint and can grab one of his cards from his office. If he's there I can let him know Michigan may be calling, be nice LOL.

What a bummer you have to travel so far just to buy a car!

I'm a "Summer tire/Winter tire" type and all the cars around here have the 18" all-seasons, so it's either travel to get a 2019 or wait for the 2020s and hope I can talk a local dealer into going against their ordering preferences to get what I want. I think (hope) I can get a better deal on a 2019 now than a 2020 next Spring...

Enjoy,
