Hi everyone,

I've decided to join the party here in the forums in hope of being able to join yall as an owner.

I've spent the past 2 years casually shopping for cars considering everything from a Miata to a 4Runner. I narrowed my search to only sedans and was deciding between a few cars:
1. Telsa Model 3
2. Kia Stinger
3. Genesis G70
4. Cadillac ATS-V
5. Lexus IS 250t

After much contemplating and test driving, I decided on the Stinger because of the combination of value, practicality, looks (objective), and driving experience.

I'm in the market for a Ceramic Silver GT1 or GT2. Ideally I would like a used one around 32k. However I'm not sure how realistic this is. Another appealing option is to purchase a new '19 or '20 with incentives for around 37k. (43k + 6k in incentives). The value of the warranty is undeniable!

Currently, I regularly search popular used car sites and Kia dealers in the Texas region in the hope of finding something for me. If you have any tips for finding this car, let me know!

Howdy! If you're willing to travel and drive your car back, then your search area will widen considerably. It will also be fun. And, if new, will take care of the break in period (first 600 miles; see beginning of owner's manual). Good luck and enjoy your quest.

Thank you! I am definitely open to driving a bit to pick it up. I plan to trade in my current car when I get my Stinger so ideally where I buy it from would be close.

However, flying to another city and driving it back is not completely off the table! I agree that it would be a fun way to start this experience.

Your list looks nearly identical to mine when I was shopping. The stinger checked all the boxes for a price I could afford new. I don't regret buying it, although if I didn't have a such hellacious commute I may have gotten something with a third pedal.

It's such a unique and eye-catching car that really punches above it's price tag. The hatch is quite practical too.
A model 3 performance will be faster, but it's such a soulless experience driving one that I just couldn't do it.

Texas taxes you twice on lease buyouts, so beware. I don't know if it's still offered but I saved $5K by getting a balloon loan through Kia (which I immediately refinanced).

For me, cost of insurance was a bit of a deal breaker on the Model 3. It's quoted for so much more than any of the other cars I listed.

The thought of spending 30k on a used ATS-V with potentially 40/50k miles was a scary thought. If the CT4 Blackwing was out, that would definitely be an enticing option!

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us! For some reason the styling of the Model 3 just isn't growing on me - but the other cars in your list - I like. Especially the ATS-V. However, I don't know, GM reliability - I'm not impressed with it. The car itself is amazing, though. The Lexus IS 250T - also very nice. Reliable as all heck - but it's a little on the slow side. The G70 I love as well. Of course, the Stinger is my favorite on the list. It's car head-turning styling, great power if you're looking at a GT, and is very reliable. Keep us posted on your search! Oh and what might the Stinger be replacing for you?

I never get tired of saying this: it looks like somebody wearing a sock over their head. :D

1. Telsa Model 3 Common and I don't think electric cars are super mainstream yet, not prime time for electric cars yet.
2. Kia Stinger Awesome the best car you can buy for about 40-50k USD
3. Genesis G70 Second best options
4. Cadillac ATS-V Good luck with reliability
5. Lexus IS 250t driven by senior citizens and middle aged woman.

Just my opinion of course, its your money follow your heart.
