Hold up 5 weeks? I got my rack 2 days after I ordered and replaced it in a day.I hit a bump near my house and destroyed the steering rack. i own a 2020 gt1. they told me i have to wait 5 weeks for the repair. Im so afraid of getting it back and having the steering feel like its always in sports mode.
What insurance company do you or did you have at the time? That’s super crap they deemed it your fault.

Did the shop make sure it was the right calibration? I replaced mine but didn't test it yet. Also I have no baseline, when I got the car the power steering was shot.Sorry to see that. That's even longer than it took for me and my parts came from Korea. Maybe the outbreak is slowing things down?
At first it kinda sucked having such heavy steering but I'm used to it. I've driven many many miles since getting it back and I've come to like the precision and directness, if not the weight.
Interesting. Also did it take you 2 weeks to get parts? I got parts from Korea in 3 days, dealership claimed it would take a month. Dealership also tried to charge me 3.5k when the rack itself cost less than 2k from Korea. 1,750 USD shipped to my door. So far I have heard nothing but incompetence about dealerships. Makes me feel a bit better about sinking almost 12k into my rebuild. The dealer was not all terrible, the parts guy gave me a discount on a frame rail. It came scratched up but I wasn't expecting 5 star service so no biggie.Highly possible they didn't get it right. They're one of the worst for service in the area and known to be pretty incompetent. At the time I didn't say anything since I was sure I was going to trade out of it quickly and didn't care. But now after a few months I'm used to it and don't really mind it.

Ye my Insurance wouldnt let me have it serviced at the dealership. but then they realized how hard parts are to come by for a south korean car in Australia lol. Even the dealership estimated around the same time. they're replacing the entire underneath covers too. I'm just worried they're gonna damage the paint by keeping the car at their shop. I havent had the best experience with mechanics here. 90 percent of them have been incompetent
