How old is your Stinger? Main reason isg won't work is due to battery charge. My isg never worked properly (car sat in dealer lot for around 9 months b4 i took possession). After a year and 12k+ miles of ownership dealer got kia regional mgr to approve a new battery. Isg has been working ok so far since.Pretty much tried everything. Got the car booked with my Kia dealer next week. Will keep you posted
Note that (among many, many other things) both the battery SOC and battery temperature conditions need to be met - not just the temperature of the engine coolant.Since the weather’s gotten a little colder in Calgary my ISG (Idle Stop and Go) has stopped working. All I get is the amber light. Anyone else having issues with this?
A new wrinkle last night. Got in and started up. Moved the drive mode to Custom, then reached down (out of order: I "always" push the OFF button for ISG "first"Have you tried pushing the ISG Off button on the console, in case it accidentally got pushed?
Never noticed the OFF button lit up before. Always, when I look down it is unlit. Here you are saying that in 21 months this has been going on and I only just now noticed it?So basically what happens here is the ISG (Idle Stop and Go) was not ready when you first got in the car. So the ISG (Idle Stop and Go) button light will be on till the system is ready. The dash indicator will also show Amber light.
Now, this can be confusing because the ISG (Idle Stop and Go) is thought to be off but in fact it's not ready.
Pressing the button again will keep the lights on at the button, but turns off the warning on the dash. Now the ISG (Idle Stop and Go) is actually turned off.

Here you are saying that in 21 months this has been going on and I only just now noticed it?I suppose that is possible. But it doesn't seem likely, given my 99% reliability in turning ISG (Idle Stop and Go) OFF as the very next thing I do after startup.
Yeah that's how it works. Whether it is always ready (like you said that it normally is) depends on factors like how often you drive, the distance etc.Never noticed the OFF button lit up before. Shark Racing has a module that remembers your last setting. An ISG (Idle Stop and Go) function that doesn't? That's HIGH on my list of desired features!

Mine has pretty much stopped working with the colder weather cause my commute is short (13km, 25 mins, battery doesnt get warm enough and charge enough to reach the necessary level). Doing this for a very long period is obviously not very good for battery life quality. It starts working again after a prolonged drive at slightly higher speeds and then at some point dies off again. It is exactly the same in my girlfriends 2019 Hyundai I30.
With warmer weathers I expect this to happen very rarely as the temperature is the main factor in this.
I've been watching closely as I startup. The ISG button remains unlit; as it has for twenty months. The aberration of a few days ago was just that: a once-off weirdism. I start the car, look down and after a few seconds, push ISG to OFF; the button lights up. It's always been that way, except for that one time, when it was lit and ISG icon was on the dash, but amber; and no amount of pushing the ISG button changed a thing: it stayed lit up (i.e. OFF).An ISG (Idle Stop and Go) function that doesn't?
