So, I was cleaning up my interior yesterday (2020 base awd gt) nothing crazy, just a good vacuuming, leather seat wipes, etc. I popped the hood to get at a leaf or 2 that got stuck. Noticed this.

I'm honestly not exactly sure what the hose is and what is under the foam. Is this normal for the hose to look that way and some of the foam to be worn away I guess? Car has about 8600 miles on it. Can't say that I noticed it looking like that before.

Someone was hungry. Hey better that foam then the fuel line under it. Don't let them nibble on your wire harness, it won't end well.

Damn, not a good sign then. I'm wondering if it's from work? There's mice all over the place where I work. All the surrounding lots/buildings have undergone major demolition and construction. I wonder if that's forced them more to our building? It's starting to get chilly out, been seeing them a lot more the past month than the past 17 years I've worked there. I've never noticed any sign of them in the garage at home and I store my truck in the winter for 5-6 months of the year.

Definitely looks like mice or rats. A year ago I dealt with them eating away foam around the radiator, hoses, and the ignition coil wires leading to the spark plugs. It made my car undrivable.

Block entrances to the garage with steel wool, set out traps, and drive your car daily.

Lost my harness to rats. Insurance covered but down time sucked. Got to run around in the panty dropper Soul for 2 weeks. That was awesome

gottdamn, rats and mice oh my, where do you guys live.. i better go check for rat and mice marks too.

I attract cats by putting out food: our yard is a veritable cat convention at times. I'd hate to be a mouse around here. :D The only down side is that I see kitty cat footy prints all over the top of my car sometimes (at least it isn't every day): now, are the foot prints there because they are mouse stalking, or do they just love the view (and the warm hood)?
