The '22+ with the 2.5T has that idle start/stop. According to 2021 Kia Stinger Features & Options, the 21 2.0T did not have this. Or maybe it did... It's unclear!@# Owner's manual makes reference to it, but says some models.

With the ISG, i expect the 2.5T to have a beefier starter. Hopefully last longer too, esp if you disable ISG.

the premium 2.0l has idle stop go in exactly the same center console position as the gt1.

Guy in the vid is quite upset. But realistically, how big of a starter do you need for a 4 cyl (either 2.0 or 2.5L)?

Had my 2018 Starter replaced for the low low price of $1454.91 CAD (extended warranty paid).

Despite disabling ISG on every drive cycle, starter still failed with only 113k KMs on the clock.

^^How many hours did it take 'em to do the swap? $900+ in labor seems like lots of hours, even if it is CAD.

Dropped off at 9:30am - May 3rd
They gave me a loaner 2023 Kia Sportage.
My car was completed the following day, May 4th, around 4:00pm

In addition to the starter motor, they also replaced 1 headlight assembly ($246.60 labour) and 1 door mirror ($65.80 labour) during that same visit j-. But the massive bulk of the labour was clearly the starter motor remove and replace.

That's the funny thing,
They also "invented" an oil leak...and got caught, red handed, in full HD @60fps (but that's another story).


Short answer, YES, they raped my extended warranty.

My cost that visit was $0.00
