Is the stinger an easy car to work on?

You should read the exchange again. I don't think the 15 year old was the one that was acting like a child. Certainly the post he was responding to didn't seem to indicate any kind of constructive criticism or genuine concern as you are.
Thanks, the other guy was just being an a**hole it's fine. I really don't know what pissed him off so much.

You didn't do anything. That is his/her normal behavior around here. Best to just ignore it. There are a lot of really helpful people on the forum and tons of good info to be found.

Look for a 2.0 for several reasons: 1) you will get a better deal than the V6 2). Insurance will be a pain regardless due to age but you will probably get a better break on the 4cyl. 3). Not as powerful so you will have "built-in" restraint....although, you can get killed driving a Prius in a "stupid" manner...4). Doing your own work on that engine is a major BREEZE compared to the v6. Plenty of room, parts won't be as expensive and unless you add "tuning" parts, you can run 87 octane but if you can spring for 91, that would be better.....and Last of all, it may be the 2.0 but it will be a Stinger!!!

I mean, in all honesty I'm only getting the stinger for the V6. Not to knock the 4cyl or it's owners, but I'd rather get a bmw/audi 4cyl than a stinger 4 cyl. BMW and Audi don't have an offering at the pricepoint I'm looking at with a 6yl. And their 4cyls are garbage compared to the twin-turbo in the stinger. I really like the stinger gt, but I just don't think a 4cyl would be worth it.

No problem. Trust me, you didn't do anything.

Yep, par for the course. And there are certainly a lot of people around here that are willing to help. I know I've asked a dumb question or two in my time on the forum.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I've wrenched on a bunch of brands. Kia is middle of the road. Subaru used to be known for its ease of maintenance...but changing out an up-pipe on a WRX will have you cussing like a sailor. My Ford Focus RS was surprisingly easy to work on...easier than my '72 VW Super Beetle!

So, I don't care about your age or lack of driving experience. I grew up in the same city as Jimmie Johnson...so I'm well aware that age can sometimes be a poor indicator. I will tell you the same thing I tell ANYONE getting in to car modifying: the best mod is the "driver mod". Basically, improve yourself before improving the vehicle. Take your bone stock car to a track and learn how to push it and yourself. Trust me, that will pay dividends (see what I did there?) for the rest of your life. If you're not near a track, find the biggest (empty) lot... got a stadium nearby?

Besides that, I usually go in this order: tires, suspension, brakes, and power. Of course, aesthetics and audio can happen anytime.

Good luck in your search for a used Stinger GT!

I wouldn’t buy the 2.0

lol We will do one derail post so I can answer your ??'s @MerlintheMad Sorry @burneracchaha just a tiny side track.

Dear hubby bought me a kubota bx25 for our first wedding anniversary, he was working I dug up the yard. He is the reason I now drive a Stinger gt2, graduated from my prius! Said lets go test drive one, I said what the heck is a stinger? We bought it that day.

"Ponds" come in all sizes. Even if they are more like puddle-sized. :p
And you have to clean them out every so often (ours is due again; it's been five years since this last clean out).
I never clean my out, I have 11 ponds, filtered by a bog, pea gravel, water and plants. Biggest 10000 gallons smallest around 250 gallons. 100's of fish in the ponds that have fish some are fishless.yummy.webp
Also, do you winterize the pond/water feature? Or do you run it year-round? Letting it run during long freezes creates interesting ice "sculptures".
I pull my external pump leave all off for the winter from around Nov till March dependent on winter temps Add a pond breather to keep gas exchange going under the ice for the ponds with fish. I like the no water running down time, the deer eat in the bog and snack all around the pond.
But running a water feature in the winter can be dicey. Too long and too deep a freeze, and your pipes will freeze and bust if you don't drain the system.
I never drain the system, just pull the pump leave the lines open
Or, if (like the last two winters running) the weather is mild, you can keep the water on through the winter.
That way, you don't have to carry buckets of water to the "pond" to keep it topped up. Heh!?
I feed water into the ponds via the house gutters, we get enough wet the ponds stay full
(The winter before last, I just shut the damned thing down and turned the pump off too; too much work.)
(Oh, and no fish.)

(Sorry, @burneracchaha I do this once in a while: threaten to derail a thread; but I didn't start it! ;):p)

The yard smells like perfume when all the lilies are blooming with all the frogs, toads, birds that we now have we have no mosquitoes, bugs at a minimum, like crickets etc. The pond picture shows 5 of the ponds. 20190625_120841.webpb.webpIMG_5007 (2).webp

Like I said previously, and I think we see eye to eye on this, but go with the six cylinder. You sound mature enough to handle the power plus you seem to want that starting platform from the get go. I remember my buddy picked up a 335i (I6) but always wanted the M3 (V8). All the mods, time, money, and effort it dumped into the 335i and even after it was "quicker/faster" than a stock M3 he still had regret with not having the engine he originally wanted.

Either way good luck! You definitely have a good head on your shoulders and will learn a lot from this car!

Make sure to keep us posted and updated!:thumbup:

EDIT:

Just saw all the beautiful nature pictures in this thread. Lmfao stunning! :D

Now, that's a YARD. (ours is super small, mere subdivision, starter-home sized yards, .25 to .33 acre; but at least the water fall is merry and helps knock back the highway traffic sounds; most of the yards around here are barely alive and too many of them look like postage stamp-sized Mordor)

To throw my unrequested 2 cents into the ring:

Like @Stilleto said, learn to drive the car to the best of your own ability before you start with (I would say) ANY mods.
Go to a local AutoX and get to know the car, get to know the instructors and get to know your own reactions to different driving conditions.
Once you get to the point that you absolutely KNOW how the car is going to react given a specific input, THEN look at mods.
Again, as Stilleto said, tires are always #1. A couple years back my buddy and I put a new set of tires on the race car and picked up TEN SECONDS off our previous best time. Tires make a massive difference and are sadly, often overlooked. Then some Eurospec pads.
TLDR Get the car you want but make yourself athe best driver you can before you go adding power. Often you will find you don't honestly need it.

Best of luck and welcome!

I'm not going to. do anything for at least 4-6 months. I'll throw in a cold air intake and install a tune when I'm comfortable.
