Intake or jb4 first

Now back in line with this this thread, if I could only make up my mind on which intake to run with, as that is step one.
More indecisive after reading the 14 pages intake thread

Have you read this? Intake Comparison You might have since it's 14 pages long. I went with the Injen Intake due to the looks mainly. The power gains are nice but I doubt it's that substantial. I also got $50 off my purchase with free shipping so it really sealed the deal for me. I was also looking at the BMS intake but the looks weren't for me, although I'm hoping I can get similar performance in comparison since the BMS intake played a substantial role in getting more power out of the Stinger in their dyno runs.

yep, that's the 14 pgs I read and after originally considering the KnN, began thinking injen too for possibly the most sound due to big filters and open design. then after reading the thread again, became worried about the heat cause live in Houston where it is hot and humid six months outta the year.
since don't have to worry about the heat till april-may, prob will go with injen, especially if I can find a good deal this week
thx again for the info, I get the feeling folks are pretty friendly and helpful on here unlike the site I was on when having turbo dreams for a Tiburon in mid 2000's ...it never happened, read the turbo bible by corky bell and all, but never went past intake exhaust, then blew the motor at 140k miles (IDK why) and moved along. in fact, thinking I should find that book and read it again as forgot most of it.

Unless I'm reading the intake comparison chart wrong, it looks like the Injen Intake has the most gain potential but at a premium price tag?

be willing to bet the power gains amongst the various intakes do not differ so much from one to the other. now if I could only find some time to get back on my Stinger project. definitely leaning towards the Injen, especially after reading what I took to be low fitment issues with this one. maybe there are some holiday/end of year discounts on the injen?

The better fitment is my main reason too! :) But I haven't 100% decided yet. I can't rush into these kind of things. :p

Good idea. I would want an intake that is on the quieter side.. Maybe the Stillen?

I want a quieter intake too. :)

I don't know too much about these things though. All I know is if I like the sound or not. :D

If your going for power then the JB4 will give you an extra 35hp (50 with intakes). The intakes won't net you much power at all if its the only mod you've done. Thats because intakes are not the bottle neck that early on. Exhaust is the biggest bottleneck stock.

AEM in our opinion should be touted as the intake winner

Cheaper than most
Full plastic (no heat soak)
Fits great
DYNO proven to be just as good if not better than Injen
Full Heat shield

KIA STINGER AEM COLD AIR INTAKE KIT

The only thing I would change with the AEM kit are the heat shields - I wish they were plastic or aluminum, for lighter weight! Haha. Otherwise I love the AEM kit. Maybe I could fashion my own heat shield with aluminum plating by using the steel plates as a reference..... Hmm...

I'm hoping in Injen comes out with some heat Shields. Someone mentioned they contact Injen and they said if they get a lot of intrest they may push it to production

I am with a previous poster here and would do all the bolt-on's first (intake, exhaust, plugs... etc).
But for up front bang for buck ... the tune (JB4) would be your answer.
No right or wrong answer, have fun with your choice
