Like a huge number of people with military backgrounds, I have USAA for insurance.
I was mildly surprised at an email I got yesterday about safeguarding cars from theives. In this case, slimeballs who jack the car up and cut the catalytic converter out of the exhaust system.
They suggested you have the VIN engraved on the shell of the converter or cover the converter with an additional shell.
I suppose the engraving might be of some use but installing an additional shell doesn't sound so smart. Probably not enough room or it decreases your ground clearance.
Anyone else get this sort of advice? Thanks, Don
