• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Just curious what others are paying for their Stinger. My Rate dropped to just over $1600 for renewal in a couple weeks.

$2100 here on ajax, ON with desjardins

$1,169 (plus PST) annually for my 2018 Stinger here in SK. We have no provider options here, as we all get SGI insurance through the govt. That's for basic comprehensive coverage with $1MM Liability but no glass coverage and $700 deductible. You can add on additional coverage/lower deductible for a relatively small premium.

State Farm: I just paid $438.85 for the next six months; but last December I paid $366.01. The time before that was $450.45, and before that was $445.72: so, I don't know. :P

Oh, sorry, didn't notice this is posted to the Canuck forum. Never mind.

$1,258 in London for the year from CUMIS. That's $2M liability/$500 ded collision & comp. Plus other endorsements they talked me into ( )

Might be a slight price-break cuz I'm still insuring my previous vehicle until it's sold. I guess we'll see when I drop it from my coverage.

currently paying like

Insurance is very good rate on this car !! Mine is mixed with the wifes, and if do my best to figure out the confusing combined details, my part seems to only be approx. $110/mth, in Bowmanville.

Toronto Postal Codes will pay more for sure, and of course, age and driving record, etc. will play a role.

at what age or time frame does insurance go down? I got my license when I turned 18. so about 4 years ago I believe almost 5 in two months

Never? Mine just went up from $438.85 (last spring) to $446.33. I've never seen a correlation with my age.

I'm with geico this year. Rates increased ~32% going from a '15 accord sedan exl to this car ($366 - $485USD) for 6 months. I'm a 'mature' driver with no accidents or tickets in years. I think part of the rate increase is living in this ghetto state and being so close to ghetto city. There has been one renewal already but the rate stayed the same. We'll see what happens next spring.

Ironically, to insure a '21 (22?) acura rdx would of cost just a few dollars more than the accord.

I believe in Canada, premiums decrease quite a bit for drivers once they are over 25 years old.

My premium for the Stinger is $1,580/yr with a $500 deductible and driving back and forth to work. This is on a two car policy and the other car (Corvette) costs less than the Stinger, but it is only insured for pleasure driving.

I had Progressive (in the United States) and had a 2018 Accord; insurance was about $110/month. When I bought the Stinger, my rates with Progressive nearly doubled to $200/month! Same coverage, same location, same driving habits, I'm in my 30s with no tickets and no accidents.

I think the real reason my insurance jumped is because the Stinger is one of the most ticketed vehicles AND one of the most at-fault accident vehicles in the United States. Specifically, the Stinger is #3 for car models with the most speeding tickets (16.58% of Stinger owners have prior speeding tickets compared to 9.59% national average) and the Stinger is #2 for car models with highest at fault accident rates (15.75% compared to national average of 10.78%).

Ironically, I switched to Geico where I was able to maintain the same coverage for only $144/month.

So you you saved more than 15%. You saved 28% :)

If one drives like an ashsole, they're more likely to get pulled over.

It so difficult to compare insurance as there are so many variables.

Discounts for claiming you use winter tires
Discounts for multi-line (if you have other vehicles)
Discounts for having your house on the same policy
Discounts for being old
Discounts for clean driving record
Discounts for no at fault claims
etc...

I am at around $1,600 in North Oshawa with The Personal
A couple of speeding tickets :( but no at fault claims :)

My understanding is - there is no BEST company. what works for me does not work for my friends who live nearby. Whatever algorithm's they use to determine risk - seem arbitrary.

^^IMO if you have a clean record and you've been with the current co more than 3 years, you are NOT getting the best rate. After yr 3 most discounts fall off. In years past there was loyalty discount, but not any more. Last time around even with the house on the policy, the rates were not competitive. Will re-evaluate next spring.

I'm sort of old (not retired old though), drive little and last crash was over a decade ago. Can't remember the last ticket/conviction I had. In IL they really just want your money so unless the traffic fault is egregious, you're usually given supervision. I haven't had any of that in the last decade either.

Last time I was pulled over was in 2018 or 20178 at 7am on my way to a car meet. Cop thought I was drunk because I was all over the lane. Told him no, the roads are just bad so get treated as a slalom course, and I did stay in my lane. Ran my info and let me go with a have a nice day.
