Installed Thermal Exhaust

I am liking this exhaust. I would describe this exhaust as a very good solution for people who think the stock one is too quite and tame and just want a bit more volume and a lot more heft to the sound. It is deeper and kind of mellow sounding like glass packs from the old days but not on the agressive side. It is louder than stock but not "wow" loud. I listen to the radio and it covers 90% of the sound but I want to hear the sound if it is pleasant. I have been riding with the radio off some to get the feel for this and it is never unpleasant or too loud to have a conversation without raised voices. Under WOT it gets more aggressive but not overbearing. I am very pleased at this point.

Also, David was very good about answering my questions and seemed to be in tune with what I was wanting and recommended this. I knew Borla would be too much, I did not want to spend as much money as the ARK was and this fit just right.

I think the new users are all getting MBRP exhausts judging by hype. Some Borla users. I don't think the MBRP was as well known when I bought mine, on top of that it was not as well known how much tips affect drone.

I agree with the underrated part David. I have spread the word here but most people seem to want loud.

From the films I have seen Thermal. it is louder than stock, with a nice deep mellow sound. I think the MRBP is louder. K8 can probably tell you better.

Reviving an old thread. Does anyone else have any comments on the Thermal since November 2019? From what I've read and head, this exhaust is what I'm looking for as a balance between loudness and drone.

I had a 04 G35 coupe with a Stillen exhaust and loved the sound. If the Stillen exhaust for the Stinger sounded like the G35, I'd get the Stillen for sure. But I've heard that the Stillen drones too.

We have had nothing but great feedback on this exhaust so far.

Unfortunately, due to the demand and COVID-19, these are not available to ship until the end of February or the middle of March.

However, if you decided you would like to order, let me know and we can offer you a discount for pre-ordering it and saving your place in line.

I put my Thermal exhaust and midpipes on at the same time so I don't know how it does by itself, but it isn't loud. Doesn't really drone either. Won't say zero drone(I don't think it's possible considering the hatch) but very little and doesn't particularly bother me. Cold start isn't quiet, but not obnoxious and quickly calms down. Once it's warm, there's more of a warm rumble than anything loud. You feel it more than you hear it. Cruising, again, not loud. But if you hop on it, everyone will know.

No Kia cold start is ever going to be as loud as the cold start of my former 2016 Camaro SS with muffler delete. I’m sure the neighbors are happy that I have the Stinger now and no longer have the Camaro. I make a kid cry once because the exhaust scared her.

My boss has a 2013 SS that is catless and straight-piped. That thing rocks our parking garage if he starts it cold. It also showed me that Teslas have very sensitive alarm systems. As do older Corollas.

I decided to go with Thermal because I had this exhaust on my Honda Prelude. Great tone and no raspy notes.

I installed mine a couple months ago (posted about it on another thread). I do like the sound. Only mild drone at a certain load/rpm. You may only hear it if listening for it...pretty sure my wife is oblivious to it. I did buy some reasonably priced sound deadening for the trunk, which should take care of it.
I do like the lower bass tone and better sound overall...it gives the right growl for the car. The exhaust was very well packaged and polished. I would recommend

I would suggest buying tips for any aftermarket exhaust. I put them on my Thermal and they got rid of any drone. The drone was not that bad but it was there. It is due to the outlet not extended out the back of the car, they tips rectify this and greatly reduce the drone.

What tips did you go with for your Thermal exhaust?
The ones everyone uses here that are generic. There are threads here on it, I cannot find my receipt. You just have to measure the output diameter and order the tips you like.

Thanks for the reply. Didn't know if you used what others had or something different.
I know I bought them from Aliexpress. They are oval and they were either 1.25 or 1.5 inch diameter. There are a bunch of posts here about which ones work without cutting the opening on the car.
