I’ll update this with more pics, but I just “finished” my first attempt at the Injen SP1350WR install.

I was not thrilled with the 12mm hose they provided. I could barely (and with much strain, and even a bit of silicone lubricant…) fit it over the nipple for what I suppose is the crankcase breather.

Even with trimming, and a lot of finagling of angles, I can’t get it on any further, and I can’t reduce the kink any more than I’ve got it here. Did anyone else run into this issue? If so, how did you solve it?

And perhaps more importantly, am I signing up for problems with it kinked like that?

As is suspected; the reason I had so much trouble is it’s a 14mm pipe:D7E61AA6-4C4B-4328-A043-85BC280B92E2.webp

Ouch that kink! I would look for another tube.

Yeah, no kidding. I went out to NAPA and they had a 1/2” ID fuel line which is 12.7mm. Might be “just enough” to get it over the nipple. A couple of hose-clamps on the Injen side should keep it from leaking.

I’m going to have to loosen everything up and play with alignment of all three pipes to avoid the kink, though.

Car was *really fun* to test drive as-is… that sound of the turbo spool up is infectious. And the BOV isn’t silent anymore either. She’s so wild and free now!

Alright, I fixed the kink with the aforementioned 0.5” ID fuel line:

(Before)

I figured out that removing the engine cover gave me much greater insight (go fig) into the issue, and then removing the two bolts that keep the crankcase breather hard pipe in place made the whole process *much* easier.

Initial fitment and a lot of wiggling of the other pipes (with the flex mount bolt and all fasteners and clamps loosened) let me orient things much better than my first attempt. In hindsight Injen really should encourage people to loosen those crankcase breather bolts). They should also ship the proper I.D. pipe, but that’s another matter.

There it is before I decided to re-mount the crankcase breather hard tube / nipple.

Final position, everything tight again.

Much less “kink” achieved. (Insert “not that there’s anything wrong with that” joke here — although I think it’s safe to say that where ventilation and fluid tubes are concerned, kink is a Bad Thing(TM)…); hopefully, with everything secured it won’t develop one.
