Injen Intake Discussion

Any updates?
According to the update we got from Injen yesterday, the intakes will began shipping this Friday.

Any customers interested in a nice discount on the intake, please PM me or email me here.

That's a pretty stout price for what appears to be simple tube and open filter replacements. I'd want to know why they claim a substantial power increase over other similar offerings, and see some performance data and testing parameters to back that up.

They still don't show an entry on their site for the Stinger. There is a 2018 Stinger splash dialog for 'Coming Soon', and when you click on 'more information' it simply takes you to a page showing other generic Injen product categories.

In your opinion, is this a system asking for trouble (hydrolock) when it rains?

I doubt that this or any of the similar systems is in much danger of that - the filters are high and in a well protected environment. A system that drew cold air from under the car could be an issue, when driving through an area of high water.

Meeehhh I'm good I'm just gonna do the DIY intake setup that I see others doing. I figure If I get about half as much hp gain as these so called CAI kits get for about 1/4 of the price then hey I'm happy:). You can keep the extra 10 hp I'll keep my extra 300 in my pocket

For anyone who has ordered they are slowly being sent out. Black intakes were shipped first and now the first round of red will be shipping this week and early next week!

Power gain claims must be backed by detailed testing results.

For anyone who has the red intakes, are they the dull 'primer reddish-orange' color seen in most of their pictures, or the more vibrant bright red seen in others? See pictures below.

Also, does anyone have a video clip that captures the sound on turbo spool-up and blow-off (after releasing throttle at higher RPM)? Haven't seen anything online other than a YouTube clip of literally a few seconds length.

I think it depends on the camera, I ordered wrinkle red and should be getting it soon. I have a HDR camera I can take a picture and post it, make sure you view on a HDR screen an it should show true to color hopefully

Thanks - I've got a pretty accurate monitor for color, so that would be much appreciated!

I do! It's hard to capture over road and wind noise but here are a couple I recorded aften install.
They're REALLY loud in person, videos don't do them justice.

Falanger is absolutely correct. It's loud at wot. Almost no noise difference in cabin at highway cruising speeds. Sounds awesome when you get on it. Very happy.

Definitely had some heat soak, not terrible, at the end of a spirited drive with the ambient in the low 80s. I think VelossaTech's big mouth would help funnel some more cool air towards the intakes. Probably my next mod.

I installed these yesterday. Easy install. Only issue I had was a short vacuum hose ended up using my stock. I was surprised how much sound was being muffled by the stock setup. Now people turn around when they here the bov's. Love it!

Regarding the videos a couple posts up, does Ark refer to an installed exhaust? Seems awfully loud for just an intake
