Can the infotainment system play videos?

With a rooted android phone and Carstream, yes, but that's an android auto thing not specific to this car

Videos on the Medía screen: bad, bad, bad idea. If you only watch when parked, it's the most expensive video time on the planet, since the car will turn itself off in less than five minutes unless you are burning gas stationary.

If it were up to me, I'd make video capability on dash screens verboten across the board.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I have dvd capability in my Audi and I love it. Put a movie on and go for a drive. Perfectly safe with it.
I do the same in my 10.25" screen form by BMW 535I 2011 (the infotainment media accept DVDs from factory) but the movies are for the familly not me. Just need to make sure you are not attracted to watch the movie otherwise this is really un safe!

Of course I had to code the car to accept DVD "in motion" because the movie would usually stop as the car is in "drive".

By the way this thread is very old and still no coding for the Stinger

You can do this without root now using Android Auto Apps Downloader. They have a few apps for mirroring, YouTube, or playing media from your phone on the screen.
