Infinity is struggling , pulling back from key markets ...................

The INFINITI Q50 just had its 3rd worst sales month in history. It’s worst and formally 3rd worst sales months also happened this year.

They are finally putting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in all but their bread and butter QX60 vehicles. However, the updated 2020 models have now been delayed because they have too many existing cars on dealers lots.

Nissan actually had a very good month last month but INFINITI sales were ABYSMAL for everything but the QX60.

I believe the Q50(sedan) will be discontinued before it is ever replaced. I think the new hybrid and electric INFINITI vehicles will all be CUV/SUV based.

Their cars are boring, their SUVs are ugly and their in car tech is very outdated. For less money there are better equipped options in every segment Infinity is trying to compete in.

They're pulling out of Australia completely at the end of 2019.

They've been on a downward trend since their first year here, they may sell 600 cars total this year...

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
The QX30 and Q70 have been cancelled after the 2019 model year concludes. There are also rumors that the Q60 coupe will be cancelled as well.

Where oh where did this company go wrong. Little over ten years ago they were killing it as the Japanese BMW, with the G sedan and coupe, the M and the FX. All they had to do was stay on that path and keep evolving.

IMHO, they "upgraded" the part that was arguably the strongest part of their car already - the engine. Sure, it wasn't turbo, or 500+ HP, but 327 hp NA isn't bad. They needed to add in the ZF-8 speed (instead of beefing up the Jatco 7AT a bit) for faster / better shifts, keep an LSD in the rear at minimum and work on upgrading the interior / technology. THEN bring out the upgraded engine.

The "rename everything with Q" also really messed them up. Everyone knew what G35/G37 was and M37/M56. They needed G39/M39/M57 or something, not Q40/Q50/Q60/Q70.

For me, the sport seats were just too small - the G37s seats were a total joke and even the Q50 sport seats were too narrow for me, or I would own a lightly-used Q50S (Silver Sport) AWD right now..

I suspect the troubles at parent company Nissan haven't helped.

I had a G35 11 years ago. decent car, but underpowered. I thought it was a good looking car but not a real sports car.

I have had 7 INFINITI cars over the last 14 years and I was fiercely loyal to the brand until now.

INFINITI made some really great cars for their time. The G35 and G37 were great cars when they were $35,000 and $40,000 respectively. Now a well equipped Q50 AWD tops $62,000.

The original JX35 was a really great car for the time. The Navigation was pretty decent for that year and the performance of the car was definitely acceptable. However, that car was $52,000 with zero discount when we bought ours the week it was released.

Price. Price is the issue. They renamed their cars so that the model number would line up with the price range of the vehicle. Q50 was supposed to be a $50k car. QX60 was supposed to be a $60k SUV. QX80 was supposed to be an $80k SUV.

Now other companies have come out with equivalent cars for $40k(Stinger) and $48k(Telluride).

They also let their cars enter the rental car fleets and that destroyed resell value. My 2016 Q50 is about $5000 underwater after 36 months with no hope getting above water for at least another year or more. Also that was with a $9200 discount off MSRP to start.

The only way to get an Infiniti car is to lease it. Buying it will ruin you unless you plan to keep it until the wheels literally fall off.

Infiniti never corrected the ship when there were signs that things weren’t working out quite right.

It is a shame but that is reality. The are less expensive and better options than every single vehicle INFINITI offers right now.
