Hi Kia Stinger family,

so my partner recently got a Toyota Venza, and I felt like we no longer needed 2 SUVs, I had a 2015 Escape and wanted something a little more fun that would also be a decent family car.

So I tried a few cars GLA45, S5 and the Stinger, what finally sold me on the stinger is that I could go new for the same budget instead of ~4 years old.

This week I received my brand new 2022 GT Elite (fully loaded Canadian version) in Thunder Grey with the Nappa Red leather. I've attached a few photos

I'm still breaking in the engine only at 450km but I can't wait to really try it.

My next steps are getting a set of winter wheels and tires, I'm thinking going with 18s since more tire wall might be smart for our rough Quebec winters and pot hole hell.
And I'm also going to get rust-proofing which is a must around here with how much salt they dump on roads.

I'm happy to join the community and maybe eventually watching all your projects will convince me to try something new, this car stuff is still out of my comfort zone, but I'd like to learn more!

I'm thinking about those, do you get a full car PPF? They are quite expensive... If I expect to sell in 4-5 years, should I expect the paint to deteriorate that much?

PPF is best done by a shop, and the front is key to keep the stone chips to a minimum, (the hood is the most important) you can do the ceramic yourself pretty easily

Just picked up a 2022 gt-line AWD with the sun-n-sound. White, black interior. Had a BMW 428i GC a while back, but was disappointed by the driving dynamics (handling) when it was my only car. Still, the function of the hatch and adaptive cruise control were sorely missed when I moved on to different cars. I had a hyunda elantra GT N-line that has nearly all the same tech as the stinger and I liked how the tech worked, but needed something a little bigger like my BMW. Cross shopped the usual stuff, but the tech and the introduction of the new 2.5 engine sold me. This will get me around in winter as well, vs, my other car...

So far, yep, tech is almost exactly the same, functions, the cruise control. Worse handling than the elantra gt n-line, but that's to be expected. The stock tires are pathetic for the size and probably the biggest issue, so I'll probably get a square 245 setup, probably on some other rims for a summer vs. winter setup.

IMO, all cars should come with hatches like this. No pics yet. I have a sneaking suspicion the dealer filled it with regular.

Welcome, @JamesNoBrakes . 2.5L are very rare of course, being new to the forum and all. The hatchback/liftback was a major selling feature for me. I can confidently say that if the Stinger only had the fastback look but only a trunk, I never would have bought one.

Perhaps. IME tires are the first and easiest upgrade, especially when the OEM is god-awful 225s. I did ACS springs, dinan sways and shockware upgrade on my BMW to get the suspension to where I wanted, and when it was there it was good. but that was before I got a 1LE, which tends to satisfy my hard driving needs.

Crappy all season 225s. Not sure if they are RF, but if they are, that's another hit against them.

My GT Elantra N-line had 225s, but those were a much better fit on that vehicle as far as the size, power, etc. The Stinger really needs 245 to start with and at least 265 in the rear on the hot V6 model.

I remember the same thing with the N-line as far as all season vs summer, it had something to do with the options, I think it was if DCT was selected, they came with the all seasons vs. the summer tires.

Luckily pilot sport 4s/SS 245 should fit, so that will be the plan.
