Stinger Enthusiast
This is my first KIA. Just turned in my 428 and had a 528 before that.
Same story for me, Jenny. The Stinger will be my second Kia. The Optima I'm driving now is my first.
Me too..Same story for me, Jenny.
I currently own a Subaru but my first car was Kia Forte. so if I end up buying the Stinger I would be a returning customer for Kia
I have liked the current model Optima GT ever since i first saw it , have been so close many times to purchase it, just happens, that all the stars are aligned at the moment, with moving on my current vehicle, and the release of the Stinger, it is everything i have been racking my brain about in my next new car, a car which is still rare on the roads, turns heads, twin turbo power and not a Holden Commodore V8 LS3 which is too common for my next new car, and Yes, this is my first Kia..shocked like most..never thought i would actually buy a Kia, and the Kia badge doesn't bother me at all, im actually proud of what they have built and want to show it off...haha
Yes, first kia. I was about to pull the trigger on a used optima sx a few years ago but the dealer low balled the living daylights out of my trade. So I settled on a ford fusion for the daily commute and have regretted it ever since. Once I saw the production version of the stinger I was convinced this will be my next car. Just waiting for the hype to settle down and some incentives to start rolling in so a GT is in my comfortable price range. No rush. Time is on our side![]()
I've still got my 2012 Optima SX, and with a ten year warranty I'm not gonna give it up. My wife will take it and we'll sell her 2014 Corolla. The Optima has been great, no problems to speak of just regular maintenance.
I had a feeling. WRX STi?
Yes, that's the first Kia I really liked. I have a feeling that car has brought a lot of attention to Kia. The Sonata doesn't compare. Most midsize family sedans don't...
What didn't you like about the Ford Fusion?
Yes, the Optima is a very reliable car and pretty darn nice for a mainstream family sedan!
Your Fusion had the dual clutch transmission, right? Because that was a freaking disaster of a tranny... Yes, build quality of the GTI is very nice. The Ford Fusion is actually pretty good, quality-wise, for a domestic vehicle. But the bar has been raised everywhere...The main issue is that I was coming from a MK7 GTI. The differences between the 2 vehicles were too drastic. The fusion had enough power for me but the build quality and terrible transmission did it in. Combine that with some electrical issues (infotainment screen breaking/freezing), worse than anticipate gas mileage and an inability to find that goldilocks seating position. In the end, it's my fault as it was a rushed purchase as I needed something asap. I've had a couple years to follow the stinger and after sitting in a few of them, a test drive is all that's needed to seal the deal.
What was your original choice before you saw the Stinger?Yes first KIA for me too.
I would never even consider KIA in the past but see, I was at the LA Auto Show shopping for a new family sedan and my jaw just dropped when I first saw the Stinger in their booth. From there I did my homework and a week later a brand new Stinger was in my driveway.
