Am I the only one who doesn’t see a tiger nose but a bucked tooth rabbit nose?

Perhaps Korean tigers are all buck-toothed? :D

I'm fairly shocked as to how many otherwise well-informed auto industry folks get this wrong. Even Bob Lutz, who still at 70-something can surgically break down a car's pros and cons like a boss referred to the grille shape as a "dog bone." :cautious:

I'm just glad they haven't gone the way of Toyota/Lexus with the awful big-mouth billy bass look. That's the one thing that really turns me off about the G70..

Yes, Lexus is just ugly. I call Kia the "twin tab."

I like my Stingers grill and KIA’s grills for the most part.

Lexus grills really are ugly. They will soon wrap half way up the hood and around to the doors! lol!

This pip squeak does not know what he is talking about.
If this mug wants to criticize car grilles there are plenty of ugly ones out there to pick on and the KIA Stinger grilles are definitely not in the ugly class.
Guys like this (self appointed YOUTUBE experts) are just looking for something negative to say about a very good new car that's different from just about anything else out there. Most intelligent reviewers don't have negative comments about the design of the exterior except perhaps the narrow reflector that runs down the rear side of the car , which is no big deal.

Where grilles are concerned on late model cars, the Stinger has one of the better ones out there. If anything it is one of the strong points in the overall exterior design which too many other manufacturers get wrong on many of their models.

It would be neat if someone could put together a video of how the Kia "Tiger Nose" grill has evolved over the years. It has definitely become more rounded. The BMW "Double Kidney" grill has also evolved. It used to be much narrower and seems to get wider and wider each year.

Yes, interesting to see the evolution. There are other factors than just esthetics. Aerodynamics and of course the inclusion of the intercooler below the radiator probably caused a "sqeeze" of the "twin tabs" (as I call them) to achieve adequate airflow over the surface of both.

Gee, if you cover the whole middle part of the grille, it looks like a BMW grille.

Or should that be Pontiac?

Or Holden HSV?

Or how 'bout the Mitsu Galant?

And if anyone is copying, it's BMW.

That youtuber has zero idea what he is talking about (Schreyer and BMW? pffft), but then again, he's like most people (who have little clue about auto design).

The Kia Tiger-nose grille is more like Skoda's one-sided tabbed grille.

Lincoln is also using a one-sided tabbed grille (but opposite of Skoda).
