Kia... a freaking KIA. I learned about the Stinger recently... checked one out in a showroom... and I'm HOOKED. I'm pretty sure this might be the perfect car. I look forward to learning more about these cars in the coming months and am looking to possibly pull the trigger next year.
It's funny....actually I thought it was funny. I went to the KIA store to laugh at the Stinger, a failed attempt at a sports sedan while getting my Optima serviced. Sales guy said "let me put your foot in your mouth here's the keys".
You should have seen my fiance's face when I left in a white Optima and came home in a Black Stinger. One of the best cars I've ever owned.
Going into the showroom yesterday I fully expected to see something that "looks good in pictures but is garbage in person". Nope... AWESOME. If it had a factory upgraded exhaust option available I might have stolen it right then and there.
I think the brand snobs pay the premium so they can be associated with a particular symbol. Personally I value the brand/symbol at nearly zero. I can’t imagine making payments for an additional 1-2 years just for that.

I tell you what, I agree with you. It is the perfect car, at least for me. Checks off everything I wanted and needed in a vehicle and for a great price. If you get it, no doubt you will love it.
I didnt know it existed until I walked into the dealership to buy a Sorento last February. Saw it, fell in love and bought it later that year after not being able to get it out of my mind.
OP, is your membership name indicative of the color you want, Panthera Metal? I would definitely enjoy that color if my wife had not wanted Silky Silver, which I love, btw. I'm not a color hound; I actually love them all.
My story is old and has been retold. The promo book hooked me all last winter. And when I went for a test drive, like you, I discovered that the hype was all real. One test drive and three days later my Stinger was sitting under our carport. I've been a happy driver ever since. I've never enjoyed driving before like I do in this terrific machine.
I traded in my custom ordered 2015 Mustang GT with manual transmission for an automatic all-wheel drive 4 door Stinger. That has to say something about this car...
For me, the "perfect" car would be a small 2 door coupe with manual transmission, good build quality, lots of power and under 60K Canadian. The new Supra is close to that spec (it's Auto though), but not out yet, and I wanted out of the Mustang before it started to cost too much in repairs. The only other options that came close to this are automatically classed as "sports cars" and become much more expensive for that reason.

It’s a great car but has faults like every other car. I LOVE mine, however. You’ll learn about the good and the bad here. So many mods you can do now that are relatively inexpensive to really get this car insanely fast. Can’t beat this car for the price. S4/S5 have nothing on this car.
Totally agree with everyone that has posted. Good information absolutely. For my story, I had seen the car at a dealership when it came out. Never heard of it before. Had gotten out of cars after a decade of buying modifying mostly turbo 4 and 6 cylinder import style cars. Typically FBO and then new turbo.. occasionally multiple and transmissions and clutched. Over and over with a new car. Decided to “quit” and drove a truck, nothing special, and was miserable most of the time except not caring as much about where I parked or calculated maintenance lol. Started looking at cars again and test drove the stinger. Got hung up on the badge, on the non dual clutch on the “low”horsepower and results of modified cars especially. (Sorry let’s face it we all wish it came and believe it should come stock north of 400hp. Just saying) but acknowledged that it was pretty good and had incredible tech and didn’t drive like a boat. Like it seems it will before you drive it. It actually handles really well. Steering feels impressive will surprise you every time you drive. Liked it more and more. Learned a lot from the forums and am very satisfied.

Bought mine without even having a test drive. Advertising, features, warranty, capped price servicing, performance, looks, and all the extras I wanted were a winner.

Don't think this counts as factory but the GM at the dealership in which I test drove this machine told me that borla exhaust would available as a dealer installed option.....they're already doing custom stripping and replacement badging.... here is a pic of striped GT
