I’ve got two quotes for replacing rear only sway bar with Eibach labor only, both almost $600

Just do the one bolt by the fuel fill lines first once you get that one its easy a flexible head 1/2 inch rachet worked well for me.
I have switched to the lower softer setting sinch that picture was taken.
I keep forgetting to remove the zip tie I used to hold the fuel line out of the way

This is a real bitch to do. I would expect a professional shop to do it by the book and lower the rear subframe. And yes, probably alignment after. I wouldn’t be saying anything bad about a shop that wants to do something the right way. But if you feel solid about your own skills, it can be done without doing this. Having a variety of ratchets is very helpful. The flex head was actually too bulky for me. Removing the fuel pump line brackets buys a little more room. Anyone who says this is easy is on crack. You might need some different sized sockets too, shorter, etc.

Utter bollocks. "My" dealer installed both of my Eibach sway bars no questions asked. Cost was for c. half an hour labor front and c. one hour labor rear.
How much did the stealership charge you all together ?

Without looking to be precisely accurate, I think at the time labor was c. $125 an hour; labor was all they charged.

And they only took 24 hrs to do the job!:rofl::rofl:

^^^Hour and a half, truly.

(edit: Well, actual time was somewhat longer on the front, but they only charged half an hour: the reason was because they removed those plastic deflectors, said they were "rubbing": At first I said, "Go ahead and toss them, if that's the case."   o_O But then I changed my mind as I was about to leave and had them retrieved from the trash. Slept on it, then returned in the morning and had them put them back on.)

I paid $750 to have the front and rear installed. Kinda glad I didn't do it myself. The older I get the less patience I have. The guy I went to charges $120 an hour and always goes by "book" time, regardless of what it actually takes.

Most good shops do, because most of the guides are pretty damn accurate these days and taking longer is generally due to not following the book, not having the parts or making mistakes, so most good ones won’t go over the book number as far as charge either.

Just had BOTH Whiteline sway bars done this morning after a long backorder- especially the front. Here's a copy of my bill, my guy ROCKS!
Everytime I get my car back from this guy, I fall in love all over again...
Basically, like most here says- 1.5hrs to install.

endlinks? or front and rear sways installed for $160? If they did the front and rear sways for $160 that's unbelievable.

Endlinks were already installed by the same shop a couple months ago, as they shipped right away and were part of the sway bar package. They were installed the same time as the ATQ subframe bushings actually. I don't know why he included the links in the description of the work performed. I dropped the car off last night after they were closed and received a text at 9:30AM saying the car was ready, I doubt he arrived eRlier than 7:30 on a Saturday morning- you can see he balanced/rotated the wheels too, so 2 hrs total seems accurate. I asked him how did the left side, rear go? He stated that he dropped the subframe an inch to gain the clearance needed...just straight time, fck that 6+hr book time sh!t. I do have 4 cars that he maintains for me. Just an honest mechanic, who knows what the heck he's doing. This guy was a top Subaru guy in the country and was doing doing warranty work for Subaru for a few years after opening his own shop, until a Subaru dealership complained.

Damn sounds like these shops are really trying to beat people in the head for the install. I would have to check but my guy who owns a shop installed all my mods for 1k including sway bars. It was a bunch of shit haha. Two hours tops for the sways.

Yeah sadly most shops...even shops that have done the sways on a stinger before are quoting 3-6 hours of book time depending on which sways you're doing. Out of the shops I called, they all quoted the same number of hours, even after saying "yeah we've done them before on the Stinger".

Also depends on where you're at and whether or not you know/have a working relationship with the shop manager. DC/MD/VA area will pretty much all quote you book hours unless you know the place well. It's a racket here.

^^^Even the Kia dealership install? If so, then I am sorry you live amidst racketeers.
