Hurricane

Nice day for a quick drive to the Blue Ridge mountains? Or maybe Chicago?

Hurricane Death? Sounds serious, if not following the standard hurricane naming conventions!

So... Who's spending their finals days along with me here in Florida this weekend? It's been a great run...

I'm driving down to Ft. Lauderdale for a cruise on Saturday. Think the ship will sneak out Sunday afternoon after the storm has passed. Guess scheduling the cruise at this time of the year wasn't the best plan. On the bright side, think the Stinger will be OK.

Hoping it heads North so I don't have to board up the house. Damn storm is ruining my weekend.

Now it looks like the storm will not hit land until Monday. Stinger may be in store for some ruff weather.

Just finished a major overhaul on the garage organization so we can fit both cars in for the storm. It will never be this clean/organized again...

Cruise delayed until Wednesday and reduced from 7 days to 3. I Cancelled. Will stay home waiting for the Cat. 4 to hit.

Who was the bright spark meteorologist who instilled calm by naming it Death?

Woke up this morning, looked at the NHC update and about fell out of the chair. Holy shit..

Looks like Florida dodged a bullet. The Bahamas on the other hand...

I thought this too. The official name appears to be Dorian - I suspect "Death" was a moniker given to it based on the severity (they always suspected it was going to become a powerful hurricane I believe).

Dorian, after Dorian Gray? :D

On our recent trip to Atlanta and back, I was concerned about weather extremes: we saw none, thankfully! Midwest flooding prior to the drive, and of course any residual inland storms from hurricanes, occupied my worries. Now that we're safely back in Utah, "let 'er rip"! ;)
