Turning left (slowly) into my condo driveway today, I heard/felt a huge thunk which sounded like it was in the right rear area. I was centered in our wide driveway apron, so it wasn't that I hit the slope at the side of the driveway, but I was making a tighter turn than my usual wide curve into the drive. After that one jolt, it felt fine.

This happened once before maybe last year, but when I was in a few days later for an oil change, they saw nothing wrong in the suspension and no damage to anything and I just assumed maybe I'd rolled over something. I know I didn't this time!

I'm going in for routine maintenance again probably this week, so do any of you have an idea what this might be? I remember vaguely long ago some Stingers had a suspension issue that was related to a defective part (can't remember what, and can't find the threads since my car suspension vocabulary is nonexistent). Since mine is very low mileage, I wonder if maybe she's coming up on whatever that problem was that others had long ago.

Every once in a while my front suspension will *clunk* as I back out of our driveway and turn the steering wheel entering the street. I wouldn't say it is a "huge thunk" though. A lot is going on with the suspension. Unless a sound repeats frequently I'm not going to borrow trouble and worry about it. If the sound only happens at slow speed while maneuvering tightly, I'm going to assume that a set of conditions are setting up tension in the suspension in a way that produces a sudden release and thus the noise. But I would also mention it to the service people when it has happened more than a couple of times.

Get it checked out, a suspension check revealed my passengers rear shock was faulty at only 50,000km.

I wonder if the LSD had "locked" up and the tire skipped or something for the tight turn..
