I picked up a used JB4 here on the forum and it says it's locked when I try to link with the app. I emailed through the link. Is that the only way to unlock . I'm really wanting to do a few logs.

I am about to install my second hand JB4 as well. Three quick questions.

1) Once installed and while I am waiting to get it unlocked... does the car just act like the JB4 is not there? Or am I locked out from driving it?
2) Mine has EWG wires installed to the unit. I don't have time today to install these as it looks like at least the passenger side intake piping will have to come out. Does not installing the EWG wires to the connectors if they are connected to the JB4 cause any issues?
3) Does it matter which fuel wire hits which side? There is a long and a short fuel wire but some people install the JB4 unit on the drivers side and some on the passenger side. This leads me to believe it does not matter which fuel wire goes to which side.

I am assuming no issues with 1 or 2, just want to be 100% certain.

It has a default tune . I don't know what Map it is but it's seriously noticeable.
My wife will probably never drive out of eco mode now. she

My worry is it will still be setup however the previous owner had it setup. Until I can connect.

Where does the unit draw it's power? If I had to hook up one thing to make an attempt to connect and get the code what would that be?

It powers off the MAP connector with yellow/red wires.

Thanks Terry, worked perfect.

My app is now linked and working properly.
My JB4 was in Map2
No wonder it felt so viscious.
I'm about 5 gallons low so I'm gonna go pull a few logs in map2 and then put some E85 and go to map3 tomorrow if it all looks good.

Mine is unlocked now too. It was also set to map2 but I didn't drive it yet. I've changed it to map 0 for now. Once connected and plugs installed I will start with logs of map1 and look for ign2-6 pullback.

Okay so I lied. I did one pull one map 1 with stock plugs. Back to map 0 until I get HKS installed.

I haven't installed the EWG wires yet, should I turn ON the disable EWG control on the settings until I do?
