Don't have my GT2 yet, but will in August. Glad I came across this thread as I really can't stand the ugly steering wheel Kia badge. It's not that I mind seeing Kia on the wheel, it's just that the badge is sooo ugly. BTW, I know I saw somewhere that Kia may be changing the logo. They'll be keeping KIA, but it will be slanted and a nicer looking font. Personally, at the moment, I'd go for Sal's letter K, but I do have a question: I'll be leasing and I wonder if the overlay can be removed, and if not, will it screw up my lease return?
Don't worry, the steering wheel overlay can be removed when you return your lease. It sounds like our metal skin emblems might interest you as well, since you don't need to remove the stock emblems. Direct message me if you'd like more information...

Extra front emblem (E), too big to place on steering wheel?

Yeah. I have an extra one and thought of putting it on the wheel but it's too big IMO.

Didn't feel like removing original or slapping an emblem on top, so I found this chrome sticker.

Just finished removing the KIA badge from the steering wheel and flush mounted my new badge. It took me all of five minutes. I took a bit of a different route when removing the factory badge. I used my dremel tool and cut a slot in the middle of the factory badge, then sliding the screw driver in the slot, prying up and it popped right off. I had it on a slow setting and just went until I saw a slight black line in the silver badge.

Top picture you can see where I cut the center slit and pried up. Bottom photo is new badge installed.
