Great How To video Not my cup a tea but Thanks

tempted...I just stick dark window tint over the strip. Looked OK.

Does removing the reflector make the car more likely to be struck in the side at night?

Been a member for a while, just taken me forever go get some of the mods done that I wanted to do. I have spent that last several weeks using the site to help me take off all the dark chrome, chrome and black trim to paint. I have learned a great deal from the posted videos and the effort itself.

With all due respect to the original video, the removal and installation of the reflectors is WAY easier than the video shows. You do not need a small screwdriver, just a 10mm socket and some needle nose pliers. You need to pull back the truck lining as shown, but you don't need to remove lights or go to extremes. Once the lining is pulled back, on the driver's side take down the bracket holding the electrical relay. Once you do, you can stick your head in there and see the 3 rivets holding in the reflector. Pinch them with the needle nose pliers and push them out and off pops the reflector. The screws hold the rivets in place on the reflector and do not help in attaching it. Just pop the new one on without removing screws. On the passenger side, take off the 3 nuts holding the amp on and you have access to that reflector. Same process. Once I figured it out on the drivers side, the passengers side took me less than 5 minutes. Really one of the easier pieces to replace that I have done.

I wish I had read this before doing the install myself. I had a hard time seeing the screws/tabs on the driver's side (US) and could not easily grt in there at all. My gf had to help me and she didn't realize that piece could be removed, she went around it. The passenger side was a breeze once that amp is removed.

I fully intended to do an updated DIY on this because the video was lacking, but that didn't happen. Honestly tho, this video should be updated. Credit to the original but it does leave out some valuable information.

Edit - I do think I had to remove the tail light to snap the reflector into place tho, maybe. But I assume it hasn't changed between years so maybe I'm mis-remembering.

Going to be doing this mod myself when my parts arrive.

Doesn't look too tough (hopefully)

Looks like my parts are finally in Canada. Shipment is supposed to arrive Tuesday. At least that's what Canada Post says....

Finally got them.

Looks like a very good match to the car color. Fortunately the car spent 17 months in underground parking so there hasn't been any fade in the paint due to sunlight

Was very finicky to change them.

However, they look awesome so it was worth it. Paint is an exact match

I tried your method without success. There was no way the clips would depress enough to exit them through the body work, especially given you would have to do all three to get any leverage. I took out the screws, took off tail lights, pulled off the reflectors, removed the inserts (the foam spacers they use are adhesive as well) and then popped the new set in. Royal pain to do it.

Kinda just looks like you have a weird piece of the quarter panel that is hard to wash.
