Recently, I have purchased a Kia Stinger GT2 from Copart and shipped it outside of the USA. Once I got the car, valet mode was actiavted and I could not de-activate it. I have contacted KIA America and they basically told me that to disable valet mode, the car has to be in the US which is something that I cannot do. The car is really far away from the US, and it has been imported into my country so there is no way back.

Please help, any ideas on how I can disable valet mode?

I appreciate your help.

Have you tried getting the Kia Connect APP?

Have you tried getting the Kia Connect APP?
Thank you for your reply. I'm outside of US, Kia Connect APP does not work. The Valet Mode has been activated via the Kia Connect App by the previous owner.

If I was in the US, it would have been really easy to turn it off. I have been told that Kia Connect App uses Verizon network to connect to the car. In my country, Verizon network is not available.

Do you know any other ways to deactivate the valet mode?

Well, I wouldn't have thought you would need a particular carrier like Verizon to access the Kia App. It should be accessible through any carrier.

Do you have a Kia Dealership anywhere near where you are? Go there.

In older Kias the valet mode was turned off or on by sitting in the car and turning on the ignition (hit start button twice) without your foot on the brake pedal. Then press down on the brake pedal and hold it, then press the start button for two seconds. Maybe try that?

If the valet mode is controlled by the infotainment system you could try downloading the latest nav/map update version for the US, plug in the USB/SD card with the car turned off, and then start the car. When I do that the infotainment detects a new version and immediately asks if I would like to update (not sure if it would ask for the PIN first, though).

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

I spoke with Kia America customer service, and they told me that the car connects to Verizon to connect to Kia services. And on the infotainment system, I see that there is no signal because I'm outside of US.

Thank you Adam, I tried both ways, none worked. Attached is what I see on the screen.

I also took my car to a dealer and they told me that they don't support American cars. And mine came from America.
