How to Deal with Market Adjustments on the Kia Stinger

Hey. I've been reading some of your posts and there's some really great ideas on how to deal with these market adjustments we're seeing everywhere. Some are as high as $10000! So I was hoping a few of you could use this post to share your strategies on how to buy a Stinger for MSRP or even less. Please forgive me, I don't remember everyone who made great suggestions but I off the top of my head there's @Chris and @Never thought who gave me this idea. I hope this discussion can maybe become a sticky and help everyone who's not aware of how to be treated fairly.
 
I say we all get T-Shirts made up that say "Amazon Direct Auto Purchasing sponsored by Walmart, Powered by Google" and wear them when we go in to test drive the car.
 
I think the dealer markups were a very short-lived experiment that, while maybe not completely over, has died down considerably in most regions. There are enough of these vehicles in the US at this point that MSRP is the absolute max you should expect to have to pay. The dozen-ish dealers out there that still have not caught on will adapt by year's end IMO.

The question I'm invested in at this point is: What strategies have you used to get a Stinger at or below invoice.

At least here in the capital of car consumerism (L.A. and surrounding counties), the markup is alive and kicking at way more than a "dozenish" dealers. But since I've yet to see even one Stinger on the road here (and admittedly, I've only been driving in a 30-mile radius lately), I'm wondering about sales. Since Stingers still are in short supply here--at least if the buyer is picky about color--I don't see this resolving until all the colors in all the trims are in supply. We need to have our wits about us and figure ways to outsmart the markup at least for a couple of months, if not more, so I welcome Jenny's discussion.

Here in AZ most are doing a $4k market adjustment. I had to hunt to find a dealer who would let me drive the thing. I then had email negotiations with multiple dealers. Ended up getting the GT2 about $1k under INVOICE ($46k with destination) and got KBB for my Optima with 80k miles. Wait it out, or set a price you’ll make a deal on and negotiate. Most of the dealers, when I said I won’t even pay MSRP, and reminded them there aren’t many people willing to drop $50k on a first run Kia, dropped themarket adjustment almost immediately. If they won’t, just wait it out. Because of these adjustments, I believe my GT2 was the 3rd sold in the state.
