Price in the US
So does that mean you think it will be priced less than 45 kDon't know what some of the members on here are smoking, but more than $45k usd? That's a bit ridiculous for a KIA even with all this car has to offer.
How much is the Hyundai Genesis. In Australia the 3.8 L is just under 62k before on road cost. If you add the extra costs the drive away prices is $66K. The stinger is going to be around $64 K drive away. So if your pricing is similar to ours the the GT should be around the same price as the Genesis. I know the USA pricing of vehicles are much better than in Australia but I think the stinger will be around the Genesis price tag.
The RWD G80 Sport, which has the 3.3 TT V6 like the Stinger, starts a little over $56K. Of course, Genesis comes with valet service and complimentary scheduled maintenance. Are we expecting that from a Kia dealer? And I don't know about the Sport, but the other G80s have a panoramic sun roof, another thing the Stinger won't have. Kia had better price the Stinger significantly below the G80 Sport, and somewhat below the top price on the "non-sport" G80 or there will be no point in giving up all that Genesis service.
My shortlist is basically this and the new Buick Regal GS. Pricing is set for the Buick Regal GS at 39,900. It has a NA v6 (no turbo). I'm willing to pay a touch more for the better styling, a V6 Turbo, and Brembo's on all 4 corners instead of just the front. If I have RWD (which I prefer) I don't want AWD. However, Buick runs discounts and incentives very frequently. So....... when I get ready to pull the trigger....if the savings is too much to ignore...I'll be heading to the Buick lot, but my heart wants the Stinger.
What the K900? Just because you're advertising something as a luxury brand vehicle doesn't mean it suddenly has the prestige of say a BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, etc. From what I've heard the K900 did poorly in terms of sales and failed to make it as a luxury vehicle. I hadn't even heard of it until I created an account on here which was only a couple months ago and that goes to show how well they've done at marketing that particular vehicle.I have to imagine the Stinger will cost significantly less than the Genesis G80. The Stinger is basically a Genesis G70 - which is surely going to cost a good chunk less than a G80. Like with any brand, The full size luxury sedan costs one price, the midsize luxury sedan costs less, and the small luxury sedan costs even less than that. S-Class, E-Class, C-Class. 7-Series, 5-Series, 3-Series. Lexus LS, Lexus GS, Lexus IS. Audi A8, Audi A6, Audi A4. Genesis G90, Genesis G80, Genesis G70. The Stinger is a G70...
@Gilgamesh, Kia currently sells a full-size luxury sedan that tops out at just under $70k.
I've actually never seen an advertisement anywhere for the K900. Never heard one (radio) either. I don't think they pushed it at all. It's kind of just there if you want one. A second generation is on it's way so apparently they don't have a problem with only selling a few. What the K900? Well yeah the vehicle came out last year if I'm not mistaken and it's not a simple rebadging, but rather an original design so they're not just going to end production after investing all that money.I've actually never seen an advertisement anywhere for the K900. Believe it or not, it's been available in the U.S. since 2013. I know that makes it even crazier that you hadn't heard of it until recently. But they seriously did no marketing (that I know of). It's actually a very impressive car for what it is. It doesn't bring any luxury "cache" to the owner but it's an impressive full-size luxury sedan for a non-astronomical price. Especially when you consider everything you get for that fully loaded cost. They've only sold about 5000 in the U.S. I'm sure it only exists for the South Korean market but they certainly earn a little something by selling a few here...Well yeah the vehicle came out last year if I'm not mistaken and it's not a simple rebadging, but rather an original design so they're not just going to end production after investing all that money.
I've been working like a dog so I'm out of the loop in epic proportions --- but what's making people think there's any chance at all of a fully loaded Stinger (I'm assuming we're talking about the V6 here) bring priced under $45k? Kia said it would be under $50k and if it was going to be anywhere near $45k they'd have said "priced in the mid 40s" to draw maximum attention...Back to Kia Stinger's point about prices within a brand going up by the model's ranking. On the Kia USA website, the Stinger is ranked in their line-up between the Cadenza--which tops out at $45,750--and the K900--which ranges from $49,900 to $68,905. This makes me think that the fully-equipped AWD Stinger is not going to come in at $45K or below, as many of us would like.
don't forget that people are paying over 100,000 for a chevy and a nissan. i think the stinger gt is at least half as good as those cars that come from brands with no luxury appeal. No I'm saying I'm not willing to spend more than $45k for the high end version of the Stinger and I'm surprised others are when KIA hasn't even established themselves as an actual luxury brand yet. Part of the reason luxury cars are so expensive is because you're also paying for the brand and there are some pretty comparable cars that are around the $50k range and I'd prefer to have one of those especially when the depreciation won't be nearly as bad.
