Just came across a 2016 Camaro V6 review...and it got me wondering if the Kia Stinger Exhaust sound will be up to task? The GT in Sport+ mode really needs to sing I reckon. What say you?

FYI ... They got this Basic Camaro V6 to sound like this! ... so hell yes, it's important!;

I love a nice sounding exhaust. Here's what my last car sounded like from the inside. I wish that stupid van hadn't pulled out in front of me because I really would have got to show off the sound without speeding - which is ridiculously dangerous around me unless you want red and blue lights flashing behind you. They can be driving ANYTHING here.

That Mustang on my left seemed to want to race but I typically just do what I did there and that solves the problem. :p

edit: It's supposed to start at 1:23 but I guess I can't do that here...
edit: There's another little taste at 4:57. I don't have the car anymore because you can't enjoy it anywhere.

i do care about how the car sounds. so i hope they tune the exhaust to sound really good. ford has always done a great job with the v8 mustang and i was always a fan of how the infiniti g35 sounded.

In my case the Stinger would be for my wife, and for long trips for 2. Exhaust sound is not important, should be minimal.

For my cars sound matters, but I don't drive vehicles with 4 doors.

Sorry for the double up but an article posted on another discussion from App_Master,

Something to note for the Australian spec'd Stinger stated by KMAu general manager of media and corporate communications Kevin Hepworth-
"the muted exhaust note was likely to change its tune before the local launch."
Looks like they're listening

In Korea there a sound limit in decibels but in Australia and nort América don't so I read somewhere that they will make charges in the exhaust system to undue the sounds limitation or to put some sport sound on our stinger US market!! I really hope so!!

I voted somewhat. It's important but it won't have any impact on my decision to buy the Stinger either way.

as long as they dont pump fake sounds through the speakers ill be good. i put somewhat important. my current car is way too loud so a quite exhaust would be a welcome change. but i do want a good sound when im doing some spirited driving

Most car manufacturers (BMW, Volkswagen, Toyota, Porsche and Ford) are pumping sound through speakers...its the case of having turbocharged anf fuel efficient engines. I am pretty sure Kia is going to do the same thing.

I actually welcome this, as the cabin is set to be so well insulted from outside noises, exhaust sound intrusion would also be minimal. Also makes me wonder if this "fake exhaust sound" could be turned on and off via an infotainment setting. That would be pretty cool.

That would be great, in some cars the driver is allowed to turn that on and off. Other cars you have to go into the ECU systems and turn it off. I think most hybrids don't allow you turn it off for safety concerns because of the silent engines.

i was gonna say that too. if the stinger is gonna have exhaust sounds come through the speakers, id hope theres an on/off switch for it

Video's with the stinger engine startup, reving and exhaust. Thoughts?
I definitely think it needs more.

The US and Australian market vehicles will at a minimum be louder (with less restrictions on noise levels produced by motor vehicles) and could potentially sound altogether different.

Here is the new Hyundai Elantra Sport:

Its no Aston Martin V12 but not too shabby for a 1.6T four with an OEM exhaust. So there is hope for those wanting for more out of Korea.

Not crazy about the sound of that Hyundai Elantra exhaust but like you said it's a 1.6 so who can really complain? The C Class Mercedes sounds really good. The Stinger in the videos above is very quiet but like already said it'll be louder outside of Korea. Also, @jburns I agree. It would be pretty cool blowing by somebody in a Tesla P100D.

In other threads we've had discussions relating to the Aussie market getting a Bi-Modal exhaust system which I'm really looking forward to.
In the mean time this is what the 2.0ltr sound like with exhaust mods done, can't wait for the 3.3 sound.

using Video Tube.
