How do you take off or remove the side (fender) vent and replace with the GT chrome one? Is it just clips? What tools did you use?
I took the hood ones off and they have nuts on the back and clips.
It's not even remotely close to the same. I tried doing it the other day for a short while and you have to remove the entire fender to get at the screws holding the side vents on. When I have some time to pull the car in the shop and get underneath, I'll see if there's any other way. From what I can tell though, it's not going to be an easy process.so i wonder if its the same for the front fender ones
That’s what I’ve heard as well from a guy who has them...he went another route though but advises to remove the fender. I’m actually thinking about doing it...I love the way the carbon fiber looksyou have to remove the entire fender to get at the screws holding the side vents on.
Well we've got the "genuine" carbon fiber side vents too. I may be looking for a forum member to take nice pretty pics for us!That’s what I’ve heard as well from a guy who has them...he went another route though but advises to remove the fender. Wow...work the trim tool on the outside? There are no mounting screws? It was simple - just use a plastic trim tool to work your way around the brake vent cover, gently pulling out so the push-in clips release. Only takes a few minutes.
Yup, to remove mine I used a 1 inch wide flat plastic trim tool to pry outward gently but firmly until each snap popped free. Used the new covers as a guide to locate the positions for each snap. I did end up busting one of the snaps on the silver cover, but it was easy to pull the broken piece of the clip off.Wow...work the trim tool on the outside? There are no mounting screws?

Use a plastic trim removal tool.@SEA Stinger
Thank you x3
So the clips are push in clips? Basically a 2” plastic scraper can remove the fender vents?
