My wife has not been inclined to drive our 2022 Stinger GT1 since we bought it 3 mo ago. She sees me going through the ritual to get rid of Lane Safety which is easy, Idle Stop and Go, also easy and Forward Safety which requires a drill before driving off.

So, we both thought it time for me to show her that she can get in this car and quickly drive off with little pain. Showed her how easy it was to get rid of Idle Stop and Go and we went for a short drive. Her background is mostly driving our Pontiac G8GT which isn't the fastest car around these days but is still faster than the vast majority of cars on the road and the faster 2016 Chevy SS which is now gone.

Went to the mail stop and as she turned up the hill, I suggested she give it some throttle. She did and it took off. She's not one to use profanity but it really surprised her how fast it went with half throttle or less. I just smiled. Don

That was me during the test drive. I believe my words to the salesman were something to the effect of "death trap" lol. Bought the car anyway. Still here.

It hauls.

ISG is completely avoidable without touching the button.

There is, It just requires use of a screwdriver, electrical tape, and a trim pry tool, not in that order.

My wife has driven my 2 year old 2019 GTS once and she curbed both right wheels. She was trying to be extra careful and tried to back into a parking spot. She felt awful and hasn't driven it since. I feel bad because I bought it for her to drive as well when she needed room. She daily drives a hardtop Miata. My wife does kind of look at me like I am a Pilot when we go somewhere together in the Stinger. I disable auto stop, plug my phone in and startup Spotify, switch to Sport mode and open the sunroof. I guess we all have our routines.

There is an ISG memory module you can get from Shark Racing. It remembers the last setting (on or off) and also remembers the Auto Hold setting. While you can do Adoom's procedure, it always forces it off, and doesn't address the auto hold feature.

Whats wrong with auto hold? mine works fine.

I just don't like the auto hold function. Doesn't release the brakes until you start to give it gas.

Then dont turn it on? is your car turning it on when you start the car? mine has never done that.

I believe it does turn it on by default. Otherwise it wouldn't need a memory module. I have had the module installed for some time, so I never bother with changing anything, it's always where I want it.

Auto hold is not on by default. Auto stop/start is (for CAFE reasons).

if yours turns on every time, I think something is wrong with your car, as it is def not suppose to do that, its only suppose to be on when you turn it on. if you leave it on and turn off the car, it will be on when you turn on the car again, but if it comes back on every time even after turning it off, then something is probably wrong with your car and you might want to get it looked at. it doesn't do that on my 18GT2, thats for sure.

OK, I will check.

Auto Hold has never turned ON by default. I always engage it manually as part of my startup procedure, right after I turn ISG OFF and select drive mode.

I rarely use autohold, but do sometimes. I disable it by keeping foot on brake and turning the function off. This is acceptable for the few times it's used, usually at longer lights. Although, at really long lights i'll enable the start/stop too.
