High RPMs but barely even moving.

Was it scanned at a dealer? could have several causes but it sounds like a trip to the dealer to have it properly diagnosed.
i tried to get to the dealer ASAP and was told by the dealership that systems are down and I won’t be able to get in until Tuesday. so I had a friend come by and scan it just so I could know what the issue is.

Yeah, that sucks....the "crypto-kiddies" have been hard at work.....Have insurance with State Farm and they have been down as well.....some reports say the two are related.... that being said, since you still have warranty, I would do what I had to do in order to make the appointment.

I had this issue on my "new" 2022 GT Line (no mods). It was a dealership return/buy-back with 3K miles on it. The car did exactly what OP described: If I floored it, it would go to 5K rpm, stop there, and just stop accelerating. If I accelerated smoothly/slowly, no hang. Dealership noticed the smaller coolant tank was empty. Diagnosed a leak in the radiator. Pink coolant spray everywhere between the radiator and the engine. New radiator on order. While waiting for the radiator to come in, I keep the coolant tank full and the hang does not happen. There was never any error code or check-engine light. I believe this "problem" to be a generic protection mode caused by any condition that would cause serious harm to the engine.

^^Welcome, @Sabotista. That is being proactive. Makes you wonder if the original owner simply lost patience and returned the car.

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah, that thought definitely crossed my mind. Car was smoking from under the hood after the test drive. Burning coolant, now obvious. Dumbass me believed the salesman when he said it was probably the stuff they use to shine up the engine bay when prepping for sale. Good thing is that they're taking care of it under warranty and I can now recognize the smell of burning coolant, lol.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

I as well am experiencing this same problem with code: P0088 Fuel Rail/System Pressure Too High with a check engine light on. I have scheduled some warranty work since it should be covered under Emissions. It wouldn’t increase speed when driving aggressive and flooring it did practically nothing. I would be forced to switch to manual and shift to the higher gears to put less stress on the motor. Also when I turn off my car and back on again it would then drive normal (until driving aggressively again) but when driving normal it’s fine. More than likely it should be either a fuel pump replacement, filter or clogged fuel lines. I’m going to take my best bet and believe the fuel pump has gone to shit and needs to be replaced. I have a 2018 Kia Stinger 2.0T with 50K miles. Never had a problem before. Bought it at 20K miles. Have a custom Y pipe exhaust with a muffler delete. Have H&R springs & GoFastBits BOV. I’ve reinstalled my stock BOV so they don’t give me issues with the warranty work. I will report back in case anyone else runs into this same issue. For as far as I’ve been reading into this issue, particularly these GDI (gas direct injection) cars the fuel pumps go bad from time to time. Hopefully everything works out and i’m not without a car for too long if parts are on back order.

Sounds like bad HPFP.

my car seems to do this once, where it would revving but moving slowly, like a tranny slip.. I stopped, put in park (don't recall if I turned it offf or not) and started to drive and it didn't do it anymore. and never has since... one time thing and I have 66K kms. I let dealership know and I asked them to look into and record it, so in case my tranny slips right after warranty expires, its on record to have done it before.. I dont know if it was a tranny slip or something else but it behaved like that. still don't know what it was for sure
