I Purchase my H/Red2018 Stinger GT1 RWD in December 2018 as my Christmas gift to myself. After working in Utah for the last 10 months . Which is where I first saw this car. I was floored. I studied this car since Aug2018. Once coming back to Maryland in Nov. I test drove BMW. Audi. Alf.... and more and the Stinger was I have to have. So, my new "Red Diamond" which shares the driveway with my 2010 SUV.Benz.
Love this Car. So, it was in shop from Dec18 thru Jan5( small dings repair) ( didnt like that ) but once I got it home omg. This car rocks!
So any idea on window tint. Had my window tint a week ago.
Drove my car on Wednesday this week and was stop by Maryland Police. My windows are to dark.
( Tint guy said I was legal ( I should have researched) 20%. Now I have driven Stinger around never stop. Until Wednesday this week my speed was 35. He pulled me over told me my windshield was to dark. Well, I never tint the front window. (FW came that way how I purchse it Kia manufactor) he said oh! sorry you right. well I think your windows are to dark. Do you have a meter I asked he said no. Gave me a warning ticket stating tint not legal. Yeah I was pissed.( Yo I can see you stopping me for speed (lol) . there are no Stinger in my area. ( I am a 63year old black women work in Entertainment Industry my husband 66 year old retire fire fighter) lol!
So, slept on it. Returned to the Tint guy told him take it off. He did. Now any opinion on what is a good window tint on my Red Diamond! Minerva

Welcome. Great to have another woman around here (not that the guys aren't great)!

Mine was also my Christmas present to myself, in 2017, and I'm still in love with it. You'll find it never gets old.

Shame about your tint problems. The one thing I would recommend is that you have a clear tint put on the sunroof. In an early safety test for a t-bone, I noticed that the sunroof looked like it broke into shards which could be a problem when driving with the shade back. Tint will maybe hold it together in an accident.

Yeah, I can see why the cop might think, "too dark". But the fact is, he just wanted to get a closer look at your car. I had three warnings in the first three months of driving the Stinger; no tickets.

(Oh, I am echoing @westcoastGT well you know what the good book says about "in the mouth of two or three witnesses", etc. )

Regarding window tint that's too dark, obtain a note from an optometrist or dermatologist stating that dark window tint is needed.

Welcome to Stinger ownership Minerva! Consider window film with ceramic coating. It refracts heat better without having to be as dark. My car is ceramic tinted all the way around! Pics available on my profile if you care to have a look. Enjoy your ‘red diamond” !! I once heard something about diamonds being a girls best friends.... db
