Just back from the dealership after ordering my Stinger.

2.0 litre GT - Line S in Red with black leather. As this model is unavailable as yet in the UK I've been quoted 16 - 20 weeks delivery. It's going to be a long summer

A GTS would be nice but fuel prices over here would make it prohibitive.

Hi Steve .... firstly welcome and congratulations on the order; and yes the 2.0L's (and 2.2d's) are not being shipped to the UK at present.

I was the opposite to you though, I couldn't be bothered to wait and 23mpg is only 10 less than my last car, and for £5k more it was a no-brainer.

Also check out the UK forums : Stinger - Kia Owners Club Forums - Page 1

Hi Gdank,

I'm registered on the UK forum too, I've read your input over the last week. Where are you in the UK, I'm in Hertfordshire.

Welcome aboard, Steve! Thank you for signing up. I do hope time flies a bit for you. What will the Stinger be replacing?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I'm replacing a Ford S max 2.0 litre petrol turbo, 240bhp. I fly quite large radio control planes, hence the people carrier as we call them over here.

I'm having a 'late life crisis' as I call it. I'm retiring in August aged 66 and I thought I'd treat myself. Whilst the back seats don't fold completely flat in the Stinger I reckon I'll just about manage to get my planes in! If not I'll have to downsize my planes a bit.

66? A mere child, but I can identify with the "late life" just not the crisis. Once a car nut, always a car nut. Enjoy!

Hey

Congratulations on ordering your new car, shame it's going to take so long to arrive.

I ordered my 2.2 diesel back in November, was meant to arrive tomorrow (5th March) but got a phone call the other day saying it's been delayed with no new date.

I was going to get the smaller petrol but the service intervals are 6000, which is not enough for the miles I do.

Have you decided on the great debate. To E or not to E.

G’day & congrats Steve on your new Stinger & also your impending retirement, enjoy the ride it’s a great car.

UPDATE
Had a call from the dealership today to tell me they've had an update on my order. I've now been told that my car will be here at the end of the month or early next month, that's so much better than July!

Just hope that it's an accurate forecast. Will keep you posted.

Glad yours has been brought forward.

Seems our cars are on the same ship. But mine was meant to be here on the 5th, found out it's now been delayed with no new date for delivery.

It doesn't make sense.

Welcome to the hive. Late life crisis? I had that when I was 17 and got my first Camaro, and it was a pos that I paid top dollar for.
