Here it is, the facelift.

You know you can get that now right? It’s been done by other members.

Yes I do know it is available. However, my significant other wouldn’t be to happy if I paid $300 to swap out the airbag so the plastic logo looked better.

For now I have the stick on oval “E” logo but eventually I really do want to get the round “E” logo airbag. I just don’t want to pay $300 for it.

Just make it seem like the airbag went bad and needed replacing but the dealer won’t cover it because of some fine print in the warranty lol

That would be a great idea but I already tried swapping out the wheels without my significant other noticing and that really didn’t go over well at all. It really is all about timing I think. One of these days I might try it but for now I think just replacing the logo itself will have to do.

I agree, the red quilted leather looks exquisite.

It goes without saying that style is a personal thing, but the red quilted leather interior could be the most gorgeous interior I've ever seen. I'd take a Stinger with red quilted leather over any other car on the road today.
Quilted leather is very common on other cars though. The quilted interior of the G7 is gorgeous too.

The sequentials are real neat but that tail light all the way across looks silly.
The DRL's on the white Stinger are cool.
Bigger and round exhaust tips definitely looks better.

Porsches do the acroos tailight all the time and people don't c

Porsches do that all the time... I luv luv luv the taillight al LED, will buy an swap ASAP! :D

Sequential tails look cheesy to me, almost like a cheap aftermarket mod.

I like it on the mustang because of the style of the lights, but the small ones on the Stinger reminds me of a cheap looking old style sign that you might see outside an outdated banquet hall or casino.

Actually I found this video which has plenty of good examples from the 1980s in vegas.
So many good examples in there, but the bottom right at 5:45 is one of them. It just feels cheap to me, like it's trying so hard to be flashy when it should be elegant.

Personally I'm so sick of lightbars and was never a huge fan of them, but I think they could have made it work with the existing lights. In some cases I think the new one looks okay, but in other cases it looks off, I think because it doesn't completely fill out the area its in since it has a border. I also don't like how it goes down but quickly gets cut off, and then there are layers of lights. Having the different colors stacked on top of each other kind of reminds me of really old cars where each of the colors were separated by straight lines.

Overall I'm disappointed. I really just wanted to have an option to get the 2.5L (or 3.5L if they had that option which should have better gas mileage) with a bigger infotainment center and no fake vents on the hood. COVID and other life events have made me unsure when it will make sense to buy a new car, but despite being interested in Stingers for a while now, I might buy something else in the end.

Sure but you can't beat the performance, reliability and looks of a Stinger, a car that you can get GT2 for around 40,000 USD has no other competition, you might have to pay more to get more than the stinger.

would love to know if we can switch out the screen into the old models.
You would need the corresponding radio to complete the install because apparently the different screens speak different languages to the radio and though the connector looks the same, it’s wired differently.

It's not going to drop off my list of potential cars to buy, and maybe in the end it will still feel like the best option, but I'm not as excited about it now and I'll take other options more seriously. As one example, the Acura Type S should be fairly comparable in price starting at $45,000 (possibly lower if they have good discounts), and it seems like it should be fairly comparable in terms of performance, reliability and looks.

Also you may have very different priorities in a car, so you may be comparing it with similar BMWs, Audis, etc. but if the Stinger doesn't end up doing it for me, I might go for something much different. It's not only a matter of Stinger vs other very comparable cars. If the Stinger (and other performance cars) don't excite me enough, I'm not going to just pick between them. I'm going to think twice about spending so much money on a car that doesn't excite me as much, and possibly go with something more practical and boring.

You are right but what about buying a 2019 Stinger GT2 you could find one new for around 40,000 out of the dealer or even less... But whatever you choose buy whatever makes your heart beat.

I have considered that as an option, but first off it depends when it will make sense for me to get a new car. If I end up waiting a year or so, it may be too late. But if it ends up being (for example) this coming Spring, it's still one of those unfortunate scenarios where buying a 2020 this past Spring would have been much more exciting than buying a 2020/2021 in the coming Spring, knowing I'll be *choosing* to miss out on a bigger touch screen, better interior, and a significant upgrade on the engine if I would go with the 2.0L/2.5L.

Still though, it might be the way to go, and maybe at that point I would feel obligated to go with the 3.3L for the 2020/2021 (which I was already considering) and accept the worse gas mileage. I'll have to see though, it's just not as obvious now, when it would have been an easy decision if the 2022 had the same rear lights.

You can just swap the lights is silly easy I did remove and put them back it in 10 min when I changed LED backing bulbs.

But would you be able to swap the old tail lights onto the new model? I imagine it wouldn't be compatible, but maybe they designed it so that it is? If it would be possible without costing a fortune and without voiding the warranty, I would definitely consider it.

You all should just swap taillights when endlessly buys his/her new Stinger

  • Haha
Reactions: KAS
Quilted leather is very common on other cars though.

Apart from exotics and high-end Audi/BMW/Mercedes I can't think of many cars available in Australia with quilted leather in any colour other than black. Certainly not for < A$100,000.

Yes it seems its plug and play, will need to wait and see the car in person seems that they did not modify the chassis around the taillights so most likely its just plug and play, trust me is silly easy to swap these taillights.
