I just got my BMS intakes for my 3.3 & the rubber circumference on the filters are incredibly small. They literally fit inside the intake pipe with room for them to move around.

I tried using boiling water to expand the rubber, but that didn't help(possiblydue to the thickness of the rubber). I think that these filters are universal.

Questions:
1. Could this be a manufacturing error?
2. Have any of yall encountered this issue & how was it resolved?

Thanks in advanced everyone.

Oh shoot, you didnt install the pipes on the car before mounting the filters on them did you? That will make it difficult to get them on. The easiest way to get the filters on is to slip part of the pipe into the filter base and slowly pry the filter on as you work it around in a circle along the edge of the pipe, the pipe itself gives you the prying power you need. Wear gloves incase the pipe slips out. Does that make sense?

If you already installed the pipes on the car and are trying to put the filters on last you might have to pull them back off the car unfortunately.

That's the exact process I was following. I put the BMS shield in place, but I had the pipe out. I was trying my best to get the filter on, but the rubber is so thick that it just won't give much.

Here's a better angle so you can see what I'm up against.

You were 100% sent the incorrect sized filter from looking at those images. You will end up bending and damaging the edge of the pipes before you manage to get those on.

Also you're correct they use a universal filter.
