There's swirling, which are mostly fine and to be expected from a dealer, and then there's scratching the clear coat with hard plastic bristles and dirty rags, which is what this dealer was doing.
When we picked up our used 2017 Sportage.....before the Stinger.....the hood and roof had numerous lines running the length of the vehicle. They could only be seen in the proper lighting but were obviously from being dragged through a car wash. They could not be seen when we picked it up. I’ve since polished the hood at least once to try to remove them and it will take one more time to do it properly. If a car goes through a wash right after many others that are full of who knows what, how can this crap not affect the following cars? Why even take the chance?
I had similar problems, probably not quite as bad. I was getting mine ceramic coated by a detailer and he corrected the problems out. I then took it in a month after that to get my exhaust fitted by the dealer (Kia bimodal) and they wiped the paint on the bumper and rear quarter panel installing some bad marks in the clear coat. I got them to pay for my dealer to fix it ($350). Suffice to say I'm never going back there again. Already found another dealer which respects people's cars... interestingly they also operate european brand dealerships in the same building.
