Hello from France, Tonton just get his car

Hi everybody,

Cedric allias Tonton, I'm 34 and working in oil and gas industry. I had a chance last week to buy from a KIA dealer their demo car: a 2018 stinger grey ceramic, nappa black leather, full option with few milage (7000km). Here it's called a GT, I think the US matching model would be the GT2. I was actually looking at a new model blue or grey with red nappa however the v6 twin turbo engine is taxed about 15000 USD. A way to avoid this taxe is to get a second hand meaning the 1st owner paid it already... This car is very rare in my country, I could find less than 20 cars in France, and not sure Kia will continu to produce the V6 in EU in 2020.

I love this car and started working on it: Korean badging, red strip stickers, dark windows. My project is to remap engine (stage1), SS exaust, and about the intake, I'll be looking at a BMC carbon dynamic airbox + a velossa big mouth like (3D printed and modified to feed the box.

Welcome to the forum! They will remain rare in most of Europe because of those crazy taxes. The 3.3T is something like 100,000 euro in Holland for example.

That's true, EU is killing sport car buisness, next year eco tax goes from 10000€ to 12500€+2200€ for registration. KIA struggle to sell their v6, some dealers still have 2017 models with low milage. I went close to Paris where the dealer offered the ecotax without reporting the cost to me, another one in Nice offered a 23 000€ retail!

Noticed whilst removing front badge, some discoloration already mentionned on few you tube videos. Indeed, it's even worse as there is no discoloration but Kia sprayed clear coat over the badge... Kind of crazy... WTF...

To me it seems more likely Korean words for date, trans, etc and the rest left blank. how your plate looks like?

For your stage 1 remap of the engine, do you plan on doing everything by yourself ? You could easily get a JB4 and build your custom map through their bluetooth app.

Stage 1 will be done by BR performance on dyno, benefit is preparation stays under warranty for 5 years, can retrofit to OEM settings if any issue for free. Will do it once intake, exaust in place
