Hello from D. Sniper

Similar story only I bought the Accord then changed my mind.

I had a 2 year delay by getting the Optima SX. I couldn't wait on getting the Stinger at the time (my Galant was literally dying that day), 5-6 months before that car made it to the US. It was a fun sedan though, and has alot of mod potential in it's own right.

Welcome!

I also shopped the 2.0 Accord, but it just didn't have the oomph I wanted, and was a bit too ubiquitous.
stinger MPG isn't too hateful if you can behave yourself. I got 30mpg driving from Waco to Dallas yesterday (eco mode).

I think the accord should be compared to the base Stinger cuz the GT2 will murder any accord, accord is more of a mom grocery getter car not much a car for enthusiast.

Agreed.

Some will say it’s slow though.

It’s not.

1/4 mile times around 14@100mph, 0-60 in 5.5 secs = not slow.

4cyl Accord would outrun a Stinger 4cyl.

However, it’s FWD which has no real advantage here in FL.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
^^^Not to mention that thanks decent aftermarket support, you can tune the Accord 2.0T to get more torque than a stock Civic Type R, and even a Stinger GT.

Yeh and I’m pretty sure the stock Accord internals are equal to the Civic Type R.

On a related topic, the Civic Type R is no joke performance wise; that kiddie car will keep up with some of the world’s best on a driving circuit.

For a brief moment, I had the Type R on my list. I agree the performance potential of that car is no joke. But, the styling is too "boy racer" for my tastes. If it had come out 20 years earlier, I would've picked it over my Prelude at the time. The infotainment leaves much to be desired, the back seats are cramped, and though it's a hatch, the trunk room is paltry. One more thing to add is dealerships were STILL not selling this at MSRP in my area, marking it higher than it should be. There's a silver one, similar in color to my Ceramic Silver, and it looks pretty damn good despite my red flags about it.

The Accord is a little more ideal since that one can be a sleeper of a family sedan, and it has the detuned variant of the Type R motor.
