After leasing and returning my 2016 VW GTI manual transmission, I found their new lease rates to have skyrocketed, for no seemingly good reason.

So since I wasn't going to get another GTI and didn't like the other manual transmission options I test drove, I went with a Stinger GT and am LOVING it.

Really enjoying all aspects of the car. The cruising, the "spirited" driving. Just LOOKING at it is awesome.

I thought i'd miss the stick shift in my GTI, but I'm very surprised that i haven't (90 percent of the time).

I guess adding 155 HP to your daily driver can be a positive thing, huh. Who knew ??

Also, it came with the "E" badges before I even saw it.

I've taken pics but the backgrounds are lackluster so i'll take some better ones.

Yeah, I've never leased. Many here, though, do the lease option to get the price down, then turn right around and buy it.

Welcome to the forum, did you consider a Golf R before you got the Stinger? I looked long and hard at the Golf R but decided against it after I fell for the Stinger.

I sure did. Even though my current Stinger doesn't have a sunroof or a manual parking brake, those were two items I felt i would need to have with a Golf R, especially since it would have been stick shift. Not complete deal-breakers on their own, but enough that the poor lease numbers took it out of consideration.

Yeah I've done both lease and buy, but here in South Florida, the land of fake boobs and high heels, people like NICE things, and used cars go for poor prices. Carmakers can take used cars and transport them to better markets, but we individuals don't have it that easy. Also, many drivers here never sat behind a steering wheel until their 30s or 40s; way too late to learn how to be a good driver in most circumstances. Getting into a crash means even after repairs, the ensuing devaluation of your car will hurt.

Congrats on your Panthera Metal Stinger! Was a favorite color of mine until I found out we couldn't get the red interior in it and it looked bad in winter with crap all over it. Down in FL, you guys have rain and no snow so it work well for the rest of the time when the sun is shining.

Actually I have looked up a couple of videos for examples of upgraded exhaust pipes. I like the stock sound but the upgrades are amazing.
