I followed up on this and called kia parts now, and the live guy I talked to said he had been working there about a year and the hazardous materials fee has been added to the cost during his one year, he seemed to think it was of longer standing than a year. I bought one of these kia oem touch up pens less than a year ago, I think it was through amazon, but anyway, there was of course no trace of this ludicrous overreach fed fee. is this a new thing, I ask again? is ebay going to tack it on, or cancel my order through the merchant before they ship my pen to me? it's supposed to be here by november 2nd. that's a lot of time to interrupt my purchase with this fee, if that is something new. I am so pissed right now, just thinking that the fed can decide to do this kind of thing, because of what they've gotten away with in the past more than three years. you know that if this is real, that there is no safety measure costing that much. the money is going into deep pockets and this is nothing less than a gov't highway robber standing between me and the merchant.A glitch?
Pens are just as dangerous as guns. One can poke an eye out.
True, I thought that's what it might be, so I proceeded though the check out process and stop just short of clicking the "ORDER" button. Still no change. This also happened on another online microfiche vendor I've ordered from before. Really odd. I think somewhere somebody entered the weight or dimensions wrong, like 100 lbs instead of 100 grams. It is an *estimate* after all....
who are 'these guys'?These guys are nuts. I'm willing to pay a reasonable shipping charge, but this is robbery.
