What is this bs letter lol.

Website seems legit. but I would be reluctant to part with any car for 2 to 4 weeks for unknown testing.

$450 so they can beat the crap out of your car for 2-4 weeks? Don't they have test mules they let their employees use for this purpose.....

Reminds me of Jackass. They return the rental car with a full tank of gas, but its totally wrecked.

So let me get this straight, they want to borrow a car that finances or leases for $500+ per month for $450 a month?

Sounds fair.

Yes. They will return the car with free swirl marks and 87 full tank gas. Free curbed rims too.

I once got paid $150 for spending 2 hours in a kia focus group.

Is that what they call “donation” clinics these days… focus groups?

And it took you two hours??

Maybe looking at the “Kia” videos didn’t do it for ya… maybe you needed JDM instead?

Never heard of this. It sounds like a stupid idea. Just having my car in the service center for hours stresses me out. Forget about keeping it overnight(s).

I had a similar "service" that was supposed to be performed - emissions testing after 3 months or something that they didn't have time for and I haven't been back since.

I think it's something CA is doing to verify that "real world" cars are actually meeting their emissions targets after some time in the field. I.e. they don't suddenly stop working or turn off emissions after 5000 miles. To avoid another TDI type thing, I would imagine.

It would take me $500 worth of my time just to uninstall / re-install my mods - not to mention driving an Elantra or Kona for a month, etc. Yeah, no thanks.

This was sometime in 2011. Best I can remember is it was *after* i traded in the optima s(u)x due to all the visits to get the steering fixed (wouldn't track straight). Thought it was the least they could do to compensate me for the loss. I know some of you like that car, I did too, but mine turned out to be a true shitbox.

They were showing pics (maybe videos too), of various unbranded upcoming models, some from kia, others from mazda (maybe honda and toyota too). To get our opinions. I kept insisting they should offer a manual. Never did come to fruition. Part of the terms IIRC was one had to be a current owner of said jalopy. I do hope hyundai/kia learned from their mistakes with the 2011 gen turbo's to produce a decent product today, one that doesn't require multiple recalls on the engine and extended warranties.

I live withing 10 miles of the place, never knew it was there. Going to have to do a drive by. Never got a letter either.

I didn't get a letter either. You're in the Bay Area, and they're going to bring your car all the way down to San Bernardino Co.?! No way! I'd worry more about mishaps during transport than what they'd do to it while it's in the lab.
