At a stoplight today, Dude in a souped up Tacoma tried to surge ahead of me before two lanes narrowed down to one. I don't think so. Wasn't even close.

...so I pushed to the right lane shifted into sport mode and went past everyone and resumed normal speed. A couple of seconds later I saw the sho speeding to catchup.
Just a lot of looks. People seem so confused a Kia looks like this. Lol
I had a pleasant experience. I think it was a taurus sho. But, he was speeding a bit and got stuck behind someone. I saw it happening in front of me, so I pushed to the right lane shifted into sport mode and went past everyone and resumed normal speed. A couple of seconds later I saw the sho speeding to catchup. Once he got close, I shifted to sport mode and punched it again and he did the same. We were cruising together at 120 for a bit. Turned out, we both had to take the same exist.
When you're hitting speeds like that, are you not worried about cops at all? Are you using a radar detector? I've got Waze up and it's helpful for speed traps but I know my luck is still pretty shitty when it comes to being pulled over!
Must agree with @bugaboo90. It isn't what you do, it's what you CAN do if you want to. It's a sense of self-confidence -- latent ability.
When I was in the military, we had some pretty "bad" dudes in the Rangers and other clandestine groups. These guys were always as nice as anyone you'd ever want to meet. They never reacted to a challenge that was unnecessary. They never showed off. But they knew what they could do only if absolutely necessary and when they did, it wasn't pretty. Long fuse, quick temper.
That's kind of how I drive. I'm way too old to get baited into a stoplight challenge in the city. And there aren't many stoplights on the open highway in the U.S. where I live and drive. And a high speed run is very risky on the pocketbook from fines and insurance. But every once in a while, someone needs a dose of humiliation for being a jerk. Tailgating and forced merging are two of my favorites. My GTO isn't "tricked up" so it's pretty plain. It's amazing how many people don't recognize it for what it is. My Stinger isn't here yet (2-1/2 weeks....) but it will assume that role along side the faithful GTO.
I saw a GTO yesterday actually and had to do a double take, don't see them often. I was so intrigued by them when they were being teased by Pontiac (couldnt buy one as I was in high school haha) but I wish they did what Dodge and Ford did with the old muscle cars and went "retro" with the new design. It's too bad we'll never get another GTO.
Well, I still have mine - showroom condition, bright blue metallic with blue leather. Probably never sell it. The kids will have to pry the keys out of my cold dead hands.
That's me as well. Long fuse, BIG bomb.Long fuse, quick temper.
But as you get older you (hopefully) learn how fragile life is, that most things happening on the road are nothing personal, and that driving is too dangerous for anything out of the ordinary considering how many people are looking at phones...
