Has anyone tried to switch steering wheel bezel on older stingers?

My 2019 has a piano black plastic bezel which is not only kind of ugly but also a huge fingerprint and dust magnet.

Apparently you can order the silver one that is in current models which matches the center console. I'm not sure what would be involved in switching it but am curious if anyone has tried.

Thanks

i believe you just have to take the airbag off and then undo the 2 screws at the top. Side note, it's odd to see "older stingers". They're still so new haha

yup, I did it. works fine. ordered the back half too, but that's on a huge backorder. disconnect your battery first. you don't have to disconnect the airbag, just move it out of the way, but better to be safe.

there's also a screw on the rear that has to come out. it's pretty obvious when you look at the backside of the steering wheel.

I saw the screw hole you were referring to. The back half you mean, ?

This piece?

The kit off Ebay (which is listed as OEM parts) has the front and back piece included.

If you don't mind my asking, how much disassembly is required. I had a look at the steering wheel and can't really see how it would come apart other than the back screw hole

I bought them separately elsewhere, for more than that. i'd use that ebay auction.

the airbag pops off when you insert a T20 or so in three holes and release the bag from the spring loaded hooks it attaches to. you can search that on youtube. Once the airbag is out of the way, you'll see those top 2 screws and the one on the rear is visible before you even remove the bag (you can see it in that photo above.)

the rear piece has two more screws once you remove the front piece. you will see them. it's an easy job.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Excellent thanks mate.

I hate piano black trim in cars on general principle. Fortunately the stinger doesn't have a lot.
