Wow, I never ever had to replace a windshield in my entire life. Sucks about that pothole ;( No idea what ODOT is but they can claim any pothole to not be known to them... How can anyone prove the opposite? Anyway, good thing it didn't go worse with a broken tire.
Around here you can't keep any distance between your vehicle and the one in front of you. As soon as you do, somebody slips into the space. It's ridiculous...
Yup, can't say I disagree with you.It often seems like the only concepts they understand there are WOT, and hard-stop.
Wide open throttleWhat's WOT?
...warped 2 rims when hitting an unavoidable pothole. $ 1525 for 2 rims, mounting and balance and alignment at dealer. ...happened to my wife so she calls insurance to see if its counted as comprehensive. Geico says yes. She tells them she wants to consult with me. When she calls geico back they have filed a claim and then said its listed under collision! I was pissed...now my dam insurance went up !...
That's why , from experience, I purchased tire and wheel insurance from the Kia dealer for an additional $29.00 a month.Same here, warped 2 rims when hitting an unavoidable pothole. $ 1525 for 2 rims, mounting and balance and alignment at dealer. I have the 19's and no one really could beat the wheel price shipped. Was sick over it as it happened to my wife so she calls insurance to see if its counted as comprehensive. Geico says yes. She tells them she wants to consult with me. When she calls geico back they have filed a claim and then said its listed under collision! I was pissed...now my dam insurance went up ! Asked to hear the recorded phone call where we were told it was comp and guess what..,sir that phone call was not recorded.
You seem to be suggesting that a claim against comprehensive wouldn't affect your rates?
I have just learned -- the hard way -- that in at least some states, hitting a massive pothole even on an Interstate maintained by the state highway authority is treated as a COLLISION claim, not comprehensive. I live in Maryland, and I've just learned that in this state, any interaction with a road hazard is treated as a collision claim, with all of the predictable issues that brings, including higher rates! Apparently the only exception in this state is a deer/animal strike, which can be processed as a comprehensive claim. Massive pothole on I-270 took out two tires and a rim. I'll be hitting up the state to cover this one.Never had an insurance increase on a comp claim.
